Fairy Tale Project FRENCH 3

This fairy tale project will be counted as a test grade. Use the following guidelines to help you be successful on this project.

Part I:

Write your fairy tale in French. You can make one up, use a classic tale, or change a familiar tale’s ending. You can even borrow plot lines from movies or television or history.

Your fairy tale should have at least 250 words. (About 50 sentences minimum with 5 words each) Some of the sentences should use the imparfait, some should use passé composé. The rest can be in the present tense, future or conditional tenses. You will be graded on how appropriately you use each of these tenses. You may use your French text, French dictionaries, or sites online to help on this project. Do not be tempted to use online translation services, as they are seldom correct, easily detected, and you will earn a zero!

You must create a cover, then type your work. Type a rough draft of your project in French. Feel free to use the font (min 10 size) of your choice, but make certain the font can be easily read and supports French accents.

Part II:

Add illustrations, a title page and any other decorations you feel inspired to add to your story. Neatness, illustrations, and the cover will be worth about 20% of the overall project. Clip art is permitted, but hand-drawn illustrations are strongly encouraged. If you choose, you may use photo story, powerpoint or voice thread. Save onto a flashdrive, that I will keep a week.

Part III:

Read your story to the class. Be sure to use emotion and enthusiasm to keep your audience interested. Of course, pronunciation and fluency (smoothness) will also be evaluated, so it’s a good idea to practice reading the story aloud before you present it to the rest of the class

Please review the scoring guide so you’ll know exactly how you’ll be graded on this project. Bonne Chance!
