Workshop: Thank you all for your feedback on workshop!
SAC Chair / Senate Coordinator Guide: Seth and I will be using your feedback in a binder / training guide that we are going to be making for the next SAC Chair and Senate Coordinator.
Holiday Project: First I want to thank those of you who have turned in money so far, especially those of you who have given more than asked for – I really appreciate it! For the rest of you - please bring me your money by Friday at noon! I will be shopping this weekend.
Crosstown Campout: SGA will be helping out with the Crosstown Campout by providing activities and/or lunch for students on Friday!

IX.Report of Advisor, Dustin Lewis
For your Senate Minute, I’ve got some updates from the Senate Committees and also Senator Projects to share:
- Xavier Fitness Club was passed by the Senate and will begin their conditional process this spring with Club Relations.
- A proposed change to the Senate Rules of Order would require that Senators must be present from 3-5pm on Mondays for meetings.
- Community Affairs would like to invite everyone to attend their CFJ Community Night on February 13th – it will be a valentine’s theme… so bring yours!
- Association Affairs is planning on hosting “Ask Away with SGA” each month next year and they are also planning on attending every SAC meeting and reporting back to Senate the “SAC Attack,” now called “SAC Report.”
- Zach Aliberti – Zach is developing a Student Community Liason program that would pair up “intern-like” students with each of our community neighborhoods and partners to help exchange information between Xavier and the community.
- Joe Colak & Jayson Lerman – Ticketing process for Xavier Basketball Games
- Drew Dziedzic – Renovating the Buenger Music Room and also working on an idea for Online Transcript Ordering
- Ryan Martin – Exploring opening the Mail Center on Saturdays – piloting the project this spring with certain Saturdays
- Meghan Savercool – Working with Taylor Mauro on a 2nd Annual Muskie Move-Out for this spring
After Morgan and I spent over an hour review 13 highly qualified applicants to attend the NACA Convention this spring, we have selected Matt Morefield, Ryan McGoron, Kevin Tighe and Blake Barlow to attend this year – congrats to these four!
As a reminder, I will be out of the office attending the NACA December Board Meeting in Columbia, SC. I’ll be back Monday.
Congrats to everyone on your great work and fresh ideas for Spring Planning Day. Its nice to see some BRAND NEW events on the calendar for this year!
X.Report of the SGA Resource Assistant, Crystal Guffey
I just came from A Xavier Christmas. It is this evening. If you haven’t heard of or been a part of the event, you should check it out. We bus in lots of kids from neighborhood schools and pair them up with a Xavier student volunteer. They spend the day together doing Christmas activates, enjoying treats, they get to see a live manger, and get to meet Santa Claus.

Sarah Richardson:
Unfortunately today I am approaching you all with what I hope will not be too controversial of a request. Next semester, I have a required OT course on Wednesdays that begins at 4PM, interfering with the second half of our SAC meetings. This came to my attention back in October before anyone was even thinking about next semester, and I immediately went to the chair of the OT department and expressed my concern to see if there was any way to change the class time before it was set in stone. In order to get to the point, there was nothing that could be done to change the conflict, so I would like to ask you guys to vote me as an associate member. Now, as most of you know by now, I hold a chair position which presents a little problem. In the Rules of Order, one of the duties of a chair states that it is a requirement to be a full voting member of the board. Now, before you let that ruffle your feathers too much, it also states that a chair must serve in their position for an entire year, so if I lose my chair position instead of keep it, I will be breaking the Rules of Order anyways. I want to ask you guys to please consider my situation based on the way you know me. Although I am not a proponent for making exceptions to the rules, I can't help but ask you to do that for me. Like Dustin always says, "these are OUR rules of order, and we can do what we want with them." I brought this up with my committee over the weekend, and they unanimously expressed that they would like me to remain as chair, and they are "willing to stand up for me." I can assure you all that simply missing the last half of meetings will not change my dedication to my position and the board as a whole. I can promise you that I will keep attending meetings until the last second I have to leave, attend all the events that I can make, sign up for tabling and ticket sales, and of course spend as much time in the office as I do now to escape from school, get SAC work done, and hang out with you lovely people. I will write up my committee reports before each meeting to pass along to one of my committee members to give on my behalf. Our committee will obviously still hold weekly committee meetings where really the bulk of our work gets done, and I'll do all of my office hours and all other work required of a chair. I feel like I have taken enough of your time, so in conclusion, I would like to sincerely ask you all to suspend the rules of order and vote me as an associate member (but full member at heart!) as well as the continuing chair of Xavier Traditions Committee. I would truly appreciate it. Thank you!

I think this is a cool idea, we played around with ways to get an event in the Hoff – good way to do it.
I think this could turn into just cookie decorating, which we’ve done for other events. Maybe shoot for something more unique, actually doing the baking.
Health code violations? Probably won’t be cooking food to be served.
Any suggestions on what to make?
At 8pm? Do you think that would be too late? Still trying to figure out time.
Last year caf did sushi rolling event, did it while caf was open. Better to have at dinner time when people are there.
They might be able to reserve section. Caf might also want to make sure no students get in without paying.

The reason I (Ryan) wasn’t in meeting earlier is because I was in a Cross-town campout meeting. Start time - campus police will turn people away until the barricades are up. If campus police are there you cannot get inline.
