igus shows linear guide system, bearings, cable assemblies and readychainsat MACH2014

igus

Stand 4539

NEC, Birmingham

7th – 11th April, 2014

iguswill demonstrate and showcase the latest additions to its drylin W hybrid systems and standard PRTs. Additionally, readychains will be displayed within the readychain rack ‘light’system. Also on show willbe chainflex CF270 cables, plus the CFRIP cable stripping solution – all at this year’s MACH Exhibition – the UK’s premier manufacturing technologies event.

Visitors to the igus stand 4539 will see the drylin W linear guide system with integrated rollers typically used formachine door sliding applications. These bearings are the new drylinWJRM 21-20 hybrid type, which features two angled, smooth-running rollers; these are self-lubricating and therefore maintenance-free. Shear forces and abuse forces are absorbed safely by the sliding element.

The robust, dirt-resistant iglidurPRT slewing ring bearings, available in aluminium or stainless steel, can be complemented with stainless steel head rings for a long service life and reliability. The bearing material offers a low coefficient of friction, is resistant to chemicals, and features low moisture absorption and good vibration dampening properties.

Visitors will see readychainsdisplayed within the readychain rack ‘light’, which is half the size of its original readychainrack, and so ideal for smaller applications. Thanks to the modular system of telescopic supports and braces, the igus readychain rack ‘light’ can be pre-assembled with readychains, and delivered and fitted to the machine within days. This fast turnaround reduces process costs by up to 80 percent during prototyping and up to 50 percent over the complete assembly process.

The chainflexCF270cables on show include a hybrid servo cable with integrated RS-485 standard, and a shielded spindle core for machine tool manufacture. Both cables feature conductor and shield assemblies optimised for machine tool manufacture, and UL, CSA and DESINA approvals. They offer almost unlimited oil resistance, and are ideally suited for unsupported travel applications.

A key product highlight at the show will be the igus CFRIP range of chainflex cables, which now extends to over 230 different types. In this novel solution for stripping cables, the outer jacket can be stripped to the desired length simply by pulling the special CFRIP cord. This halves stripping time for long cable lengths, and prevents damage to the core insulation.

Throughout the exhibition, experts from igus will be on hand to provide advice and guidance on selecting energy chains, bearings and cabling assemblies for your own specific application. To arrange an appointment, please call Leanne Golding on +44 (0)1604 677240 or email at:
