IFA CONFERENCE (30 May 2016 – 1 June 2016) at MOSCOW, RUSSIA
IFA Conference which was held in Moscow from 30 May 2016 – 1 June 2016 was a great opportunity to learn and grow as an individual and as an employee. The speakers were experts in their fields and had conveyed meaningful and important messages in their short presentations which lasted for half an hour to one hour.
Some of the industry laurels and stalwarts who spoke at the IFA conference were KapilMehan, Xin Zhang, Mike Rahm, Vladimir Alexandrov, JB Penn, Chuck Magro, Dmitry Konyaev, AlexaHergenrother and many more. They spoke about market scenario in Brazil, Argentina, Ukraine and Russia and gave their views on world food security, global opportunities and challenges and the current and upcoming market scenario of the fertilizer industry.
We also took part in the “Future Fertilizer Leaders Session” meet that was organized by IFA for participants in the conference aged 35 years and below. The key take away from this session was to be innovative, share your ideas and thoughts, to speak about the changes that you want to bring about within and outside the organization, to find a mentor, to outperform the expectations of superior and other stake holdersof the organization and many more.
From an HR professional point of view, it was a great opportunity for networking; to meet the top leader and executives of IFFCO, some of the suppliers, future business partners and industry leaders.Further, I was able to understand how the International business meetings take place, how to negotiate with the buyer/supplier and was able to observe the successful leaders of the industry and what sets them apart from others.
Further, the events and evenings organized like Russian ballet at Bolshoi theatre, dinner on yacht and the performances on the last day were truly enjoyable and memorable. This conference has motivated me and made me realize how much is being done by IFFCO for the farmers and how much more is still needed to be done. I feel more such opportunities should be given to interact with the business leaders and to have a wholesome view of the industry.
