For your next assignment, you will use the Internet and a “search engine” to find answers and to print out some information.

You can use either Netscape Communicator or Internet Explorer for this exercise. In the opening screen, type the name of a search engine after the www. In the address box. Some popular search engines you can use include:

1.  Alta Vista

2.  Infoseek

3.  Lycos

4.  Yahoo

5.  Excite

6.  Snap.com

7.  Dogpile.com

8.  google.com

These are only a few of the many search engines that can be used but they are some of the more popular ones. An example of the address box is shown below:

http://www.yahoo.com

If you use Yahoo, you will arrive at a screen similar to the one below:

At this point, you can type some key words into the open box next to the button saying “SEARCH”. This box looks like the following:

Now you will visit some sites that may help you get information to complete this assignment. You can type more than one topic in the SEARCH box by using the words “and” or “or” between the key words. This will widen your search.
