The Fame Fathers Walk was launched in Summit County in 2010 by Pastor Eugene Norris II, CEO of Charisma Community Connection/Fame Fathers. "We wanted to create an opportunity for fathers and other male role models to demonstrate that they are committed to their children's education. Walking them to school is a simple way to show the community that they care. And with more than 500 fathers participating the very first year, it was very effective!"
"This year, the focus is onpreparing children for academic success," continues Norris. "We encourage schools to help fathers know what they can do to make this happen. The Fame Fathers Walk, co-sponsord by theSummit County Fatherhood Initiative, is a great opportunity to kick-off your efforts to do this. Summit Education Initiative is offering materials to help with this.Click hereto go to their web page."
