If wanted, you can create a shortcut to your dialup connection on your desktop.

1.  Double-click on My Computer.

2.  Right-click on Dial-Up Networking.

3.  Right-click on the icon you created.

4.  Select Create Shortcut.

Connecting to trinity

1.  To connect to Trinity, double-click on your icon., enter your Trinity username, and your password. Remember, your password is a combination of your PIN and your passcode.

2.  When you successfully connect, you will see two computers connected by a small line in the lower right-hand corner of your screen. At this point, open your web browser & type the following URL address into the browser:
http://remoteaccess.trinity-health.org

QUick Start Guide

Dialup Networking Installation and configuration

installing dialup networking on a home pc

The steps outlined below will guide you through the installation of Dial-Up Networking on a Home PC running Windows 95 or 98. As with all Windows software installations, it is a good idea to backup all important data before you begin.

It is also important to ensure that you have access to a set of properly licensed media for your computer’s operating system.

Before proceeding, you must have:

·  Been granted remote access privileges.

·  Attended remote access training.

·  Received your SecurID fob.

·  Created your PIN number.

·  Installed and configured your modem.

INstalling

dial-up networking

1.  Left-click on Start. This is located in the lower left-hand corner of your screen.

2.  Left-click on Settings.

3.  Left-click on Control Panel.

4.  Double-click on the Add/Remove Programs icon. This will cause a new window to appear.

5.  In the Add/Remove Program Properties window, click on the Windows Setup tab (near the top of the window).

If there is a check box next to Communications, click Cancel, close all open windows, and go to the Dial-Up Configuration section.

6.  Double-click on Communications.

7.  Select Dial-Up Networking and Hyperterminal by clicking on the square box next to these entries. A check mark should appear in the square box.

8.  Click on the OK button.

9.  Click on the OK button again.

If prompted to Insert a Disk, insert your media into the CD-ROM drive and click OK.

If you do not have the appropriate media, click OK, and enter the directory where the windows .cab files are located (usually C:\Windows\options\cabs).

10.  When prompted to restart the computer, remove any installation media from the system and click Yes.

Dial-up Configuration

1.  When your computer restarts, double-click on the My Computer icon.

2.  Double-click on the Dial-Up Networking folder.

3.  Double-click on Make New Connection.

4.  Enter a descriptive name for your connection, such as Trinity – FH 56K.

Since many Trinity sites have dial-up access, it is important that the site you are connecting to is indicated in the connection name.

5.  Select the modem you installed as your dialin device, and click the Next> button.

6.  Enter the Area code and Telephone number of the site you are calling, and click the Next> button.

7.  Click Finish.

8.  In the Dial-Up Networking window, right-click on the icon you just created, and left-click on Properties.

9.  Click on the Server Types tab at the top of the window.

10.  TCP/IP should be the only item selected under Allowed network protocols.

11.  Click OK.
