Contingency planning of services:
If a power failure occurs, some power may be available from the hospital generators. Emergency lights in the hallway or lamps in the Credit Union will provide lighting.
At the beginning of the day, the money in the drawers will be counted and the following functions could be performed.
* Before any of the following transactions are performed, all account balances and numbers will be verified by the Client Trial Balance.
Deposits:
Cash:Write the amount to be deposited on a Down Time Receipt, with the amount applied to the appropriate account number. The receipt will be signed and dated by the member and a copy will be provided to the member.
Check:Same as above.
The transactions will be added to the system when it became available.
Withdrawals:
Cash:Write the amount to be withdrawn on a Down Time Receipt, with the amount and appropriate account number. The receipt will be signed and dated by the member and a copy will be provided to the member.
Check:Same as above, with the exception of manually typing the amount, date, and payee on the check.
The transactions will be added to the system when it became available.
Money Orders:
Account:Record this transaction on a Down Time Receipt, with the appropriate account number and amount. The member will receive a copy of this receipt and the money order will be manually printed on the paymaster ribbon writer.
Cash:Same as above.
Check:Same as above.
The transactions will be added to the system when it became available.
Cashier’s Checks:
Account:Record this transaction on a Down Time Receipt, and manually type the information on the check. The member will sign and receive the check and our copy will be retained.
The check will be added to the system when it became available.
CU Money Cards:
Account:Write the amounts and serial numbers of the Stored Value Card on a Down Time Receipt along with the fee amount due.
Cash:Same as above.
The transactions will be added to the system when it became available. The
Card will be activated over the internet when available.
Savings Bonds:
Cashing:Check Series EE Bond Redemption Interest Book for the correct amount and record information on a Down Time Receipt. The member will receive cash for the redemption.
The transaction will be completed on the system when it became available.
Ordering Checks:
Call Harland-Clarke if telephone lines are available or order the checks with the online program if the computer is available. Money orders or cashiers checks can be given in place of personal checks.
IRA:
Fill out the proper paperwork as usual and send to Acensus IRA.
The transaction will be completed on the system when it became available.
Credit Union Connect:
If Harland Financial Solutions, Inc. and the Credit Union or alternate site both have power, the program will run as normal. If power is not available, Credit Union Connect will be operational once power is restored.
Visa Credit and Debit Cards:
If Harland Financial Solutions, Inc. and the Credit Union or alternate site both have power, the program will run as normal. If Harland Financial Solutions, Inc. has power but neither the Credit Union nor the alternative site does, Harland Financial Solutions, Inc. can run the programs.
Wire Transfer:
If the telephone lines are operational and Fifth Third Bank is open, a wire transfer can be transacted as usual. If the phone lines are not operational, the information can be obtained from the member and the transaction completed when the phone lines are working.
To Process a Loan:
A member will fill out an application. If the Credit Union cannot produce a credit report from Advantage Credit Bureau, the most recent credit report in the file will be used or a verbal request made to Advantage for a report. Either a Simple Interest Monthly Payment Table book or financial calculator will be used to calculate monthly payments and interest. The credit life/disability insurance will be estimated or added to the loan within the next 30 days. The note will be manually typed on a loanliner form. The member will receive a cashiers check, money order or cash for the loan proceeds.
The loan will be added to the system when it becomes available.
ATM Machine:
We would take cash from our vault to fill the ATM. When the computers were bake up, we would transfer money from our vault general ledger 7.739.1 to the ATM general ledger 7.739.3.
At the end of the day, the money in the drawers will be counted and balanced.
