Review and Approval of Meeting Minutes

Minutes approved as presented.

Treasure’s Report

Russ Dunn provided the treasure’s report. There is a current balance of $74,247.71, with $68,778.68of the total balance dedicated to WUNCCIL.

Host Agency Presentation

Natalie Bodine gave a brief presentation on the host agency, Central District Health Department. Natalie is the Training and Exercise Coordinator with the Public Health Preparedness Program. CDHD serves Ada, Elmore, Boise, and Valley counties and provides other programs and services that include; Women, Infant, and Children’s program, Immunizations, Reproductive Health Services, Children’s Oral Health, Land Development and Water and Wastewater program, Health Promotion, and Communicable Disease Tracking and Investigation.

Sub-Committee Updates

Mary Marsh gave a report on the sub-committee for the Annual Conference Planning. Committee members include; Mary Marsh, Kelli Ferrar, Dave McCune, Marta Slickers, Natalie Bodine, and Lisa Spanberger. Planning has just begun and the committee has asked the group to bring forward ideas on a theme and topics they would like to see covered. Ideas included; Volunteer Reception Centers and Communications (HAM Radio). Mary also stated that she was again able to secure $2500.00to assist with providing scholarships to cover conference registrations.

The annual conference will be held at Camp IdaHaven in McCall, Idaho September 18-20, 2016.

Update on WUNCCIL

Wade Gayler gave an update on the “long-term recovery” group formed in Northern Idaho called WUNCCIL (Wildfire Unmet Needs Committee serving Clearwater, Idaho and Lewis county. Building materials have been purchased and 2 houses are currently in process of being built. Volunteer labor for the 2 currently under construction is being provided by the Amish.

WUNCCIL will be having a Community Meeting on March 22 and an Executive Meeting on March 23, 2016.

A grant has been submitted by Mennonite Disaster Services through the American Red Cross. Mennonites Disaster Services will build 2-3 homes and construction should begin this summer.

New Business

Major Eddie Patterson gave a brief on the Salvation Army and that they have received a 25’ trailer as a donation from the Bureau of Homeland Security. The trailer will be re-modeled to include a communications center and a small sleeping area. They will have 3 trailers now which will increase services and capabilities to areas they serve.

The Mountain West VOAD conference is scheduled for April 24-26 in Bozeman, Montana. Registration is open!

The National VOAD conference is scheduled for May 22-26 in Minneapolis, Minnesota
