The WinPST pesticide database used by the WinPST program was updated January 3, 2005. It includes new pesticide active-ingredient updatesbased on the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA)August 2004 product database. It also has anewer and better list of toxicities for fish and humans.
It is available for download from the NRCS National Water and ClimateCenter website at:

Instructions for installation:
YouDO NOTneed to be a computer administrator to update the WinPST pesticide data. If you are not comfortable copying the new files onto your computer, please seek assistance from your IT support staff.
Notice that all pesticide settings (selected pesticides, application methods and application rates) will be overwritten to original defaults when you install this update. IF there are pesticide-related settings in WinPST that you have altered and wish to save, you should make a note of them before updating. (This would not apply to most users). You will have to reset the pesticide settings manually after downloadingbecause there is no automated way to transfer them.
1)At the bottom of the section, the download hyperlink is “Download the pesticide data update now”. Download the update to WinPST's pesticide properties subdirectory.On mostcomputers, the subdirectory location is c:\usda\winpst\ppd or c:\program files\usda\win-pst\ppd.
2)The download file is a zipped file. Right click on the downloaded file and choose "Extract to Here" from the menu.
3)Choose to overwrite all files when prompted.
4)The updated file is now installed and will be used by the WinPST program.
