  1. IASB Reports
  • Dave Love called the meeting to order at 1:10 p.m.
  • Jim Russell gave an update on the interns selected for the Education Administration Internship program for the Joint Annual Conference. He gave out a list of the six interns selected and explained what will be provided to them and asked of them at the Joint Annual Conference.
  • Dave Love spoke about the registration to the Joint Annual Conference for Ed. Admin. Faculty. He passed out a list of those registered and informed that those not registered needed to do so at once, as the housing block was full; anyone still needing rooms for JAC would have to find lodging on their own.

2.IPA Reports

  • Brian Schwartz gave an update about the IPA annual conference, which will take place October 13-15 in Peoria. The IPA has recently re-designed their website, which can be viewed at .
  • There are approximately $3.1 million appropriated monies available for the 07-08 mentoring program, however it is undetermined at this time as to how that money will be divided up. The hope is that ISBE will announce in the near future what’s available for mentoring, designate a mentoring manager and those mentoring entities can get started with the mentoring program. IPA would like to contact those signed up for the mentoring program and get them started with the knowledge that money is coming. One drawback is if ISBE doesn’t determine the funds for mentoring until the beginning of 08, it will detract from the mentoring program.
  • Framework for the Master Principalship program was turned over to ISBE; IPA is hoping that some of the $3.1 appropriated funds from the mentoring program can be used for the master principalship, but again at this time it is uncertain what the future of the program will be.

3.ICPEA Reports

  • It was reported that the NCPEA conference went very well, with the final attendance count at 337, being the largest conference so far. In regards to finances, money was made on the conference however no exact numbers were available at this time. The final meeting figures will be available in November.
  • Joe Pacha was elected to the NCPEA Executive Board.
  • The ICPEA fall conference will be held during the Joint Annual Conference in Chicago on Friday, November 16, from 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. It will be held at the Hyatt, in the West Tower, Columbian Room.
