Assessing an Activity Completion Report Checklist: Activity Name
Note: This checklist helps identify any issues with completion reporting and is a useful tool to provide feedback for improving completion tasks/report.
General
Use of resourcesFrom the report are we able to account for the use of resources against the delivery of results?
Contribution to Activity
Does the report enable us to track the progress of the overall Activity?
Informing decision and actions
Does it inform higher level decision-making and is the report good enough for the CIG to “take action” if necessary?
Reporting and Results
OutcomesDoes the report specify progress towards, or achievement of, intended/unintended outcomes and positive/negative impacts (if any), using data linked to indicators, not just if tasks have been completed?
Outputs
Does the report specify progress towards, or achievement of, outputs, using data linked to indicators, not just if tasks have been completed?
Conclusions are supported by evidence
Does the report present conclusions that are supported by clear evidence and analysis?
Under-performance
Does the report specify under-performance (i.e. what couldn’t be achieved and why not) and provide robust discussion?
Transition or Exit Planning
Does the report describe key steps undertaken to address issues that were likely to affect the sustainability of the Activity outcomes beyond the funding period?
Monitoring Framework
Adequate monitoring systemDoes the report demonstrate that the monitoring system were adequate to provide sufficient information for Activity management and to track outputs and progress towards intended outcomes?
Reliability of data
Does the report provide reliable and accurate data (i.e. cross-checked where possible) and adequately explains data issues or limitations?
Financials
FinancialsDoes the report specify appropriately detailed income and expenditure information?
Explanation of variance
Does the report explain any variance from budget (i.e. why more or less money has been spent than expected, and what impact this has on the overall budget)?
Risks
Discussion of risks and mitigationDoes the report specify risks, barriers, issues and mitigation strategies (where necessary)?
Cross Cutting Issues
Cross cutting issuesDoes the report specify how relevant cross-cutting issues (gender, human rights, CC&DR) have been addressed?
