Dear Parents

I would like to welcome you to my classroom. I am looking forward to teaching Algebra 1 to your student this semester. I believe that parents play a very important role in a student’s education and I hope to build a very strong relationship with each one of you.

Algebra 1 is an EOC course and the foundation for all other math classes your student will take. It is imperative that your student work diligently in class daily, complete all homework assignments, and participate in class by asking questions. Students will need to seek immediate help when they do not understand a topic. The tutoring schedule will be posted online as well as in the classroom.

I feel that parental involvement is very important to ensure that each student reaches their maximum potential. You should never feel as if you do not know what is going on in my classroom. Each day I will post notes and homework assignments on my website, as well as upcoming events such as quizzes and tests. Please help your student keep up with their work if needed.

Our primary communication is through email. Please send me contact information via email as soon as possible. After reading the parent letter and syllabus, please sign the following contract below. Because I am a state employee, all of my e-mails are public record. In order for me to be able to send you your son or daughter’s grades, please indicate that you understand this in your email.

As always, do not hesitate to contact me with any questions! I look forward to a wonderful semester!
