I would like to take this opportunity to welcome all of our students and staff back to school for the 2010-2011 school year.

During the summer, our custodians have been working hard to clean our facility and classrooms to have them ready to go by September 1st, the first day of school. Pleasant Valley School District maintenance staff has also been working hard to take care of some routine maintenance tasks. Teachers have been setting up their classroom in anticipation of the first day of school.

We will have a few new faces here at Las Colinas in the fall. Joining our 7th grade Language Arts Team is Mr. Clint Kaio. Mr. Kaio is new to Las Colinas, but he is not new to Camarillo, being a former Pleasant Valley School District student and graduate of Camarillo High School. In addition to his four 7th grade Language Arts classes, Mr. Kaio will also be our Yearbook advisor. Joining our 6th grade team is Mr. Jason Woods who will team with Mrs. McCook. Mr. Woods comes to use with 6th grade teaching experience from Los Angeles, Salinas, and Santa Paula. Our office staff will have two new faces. Ms. Jeanne Burgin joins our office staff, coming from the District office and Mrs. Michelle Sprague comes to us from Monte Vista Middle School. Mr. Tony Fernandez will be our new day custodian, coming from La Mariposa, and Mr. Lorenzo Salcedo will be our new 6 hour night custodian, coming from Monte Vista. Please join me in welcoming these new staff members to our team.

To help with your planning purposes, our regular school hours will be from 8:35-3:10 for the 2010-11 school year. Campus Supervision will be available from 7:45 until 3:30.
