Dear Parents,

I hope you all had a fantastic Easter break andthat you are looking forward to the exciting Summer Term ahead. I’ve a feeling that we’re all going to be very busy!

It has been lovely to welcome all the new children into the Nursery. We’ve really enjoyed getting to know you all and visiting the new children in their homes and we hope this helped them to settle easily into Nursery life. Your teacher isMrs Smith and Nursery assistants Mrs Hayes,Mrs Yiu and Mrs Rawse. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to come and have a chat, at the beginning or end of any session.

The ‘Learning Journey’ book for every child, contains photographs, observations and next steps from their time with us in Nursery. We would love to includeany photographs, interesting news or achievements from home in their ‘Learning Journey’ too. These can be written on a ‘postcard from home’. There are plenty in the tray please help yourself especially if you have interesting news from the Easter holidays.

The children have really enjoyed sharing the friendship boxes with us and each other. If you haven’t brought one in yet, it would be great if you could.

Please could you also ensure that your child has a spare set of clothes that can be left in a bag on their coat peg. This is really important as when children are getting wet or messy doing activities we often need to change them.

We go out to play whenever we can whatever the weather so please make sure that when it is sunny your child has a named sun hat and that sun cream has been applied.

We have a library every Wednesday. There will be lots of lovely books to choose from and borrow. We will be giving you a library bag to keep them safe.

Each half-term we ask for a voluntary contribution of £1.00 from each child. This money helps towards the cost of cooking and baking activities, picnics, parties etc. Thank you to everyone who has donated so far.

Just to let you know in advance (a letter to follow later) that I have booked an 82 seater coach to take us all (one adult accompanying one child) to Brockhole near Ambleside on Wednesday 27th June. The cost for two would be £16 as unfortunately coach travel is very expensive.

Please check the Nursery notice board for current information and reminders. There is also a brief outline of what we are doing and learning about each week.

We look forward to a fun, exciting and successful Summer Term!Thank you.
