He holds a PhD in applied quantitative methods, a Masters Degree in mathematics and two Graduate Diplomas in statistics. He is a Fellow member and Chartered Statistician of the Royal Statistical Society, United Kingdom.He is currently employed as a Senior Research Fellow at the Centre for Primary Health Care and Equity,University of New South Wales and as the Consultant Statistician at the Westmead Breast Cancer Institute, University of Sydney. He has considerable experience in the design, conduct, analysis and reporting of large-scale cluster randomized trials and epidemiological studies in breast cancer, diabetes and cardiovascular disease. His research mainly focus on applications of a wide range of statistical methods includingmultilevel modeling and survival analysis in analyzing data in the fields of primary care, cancer, public health, education, higher education and psychology.

He has established a distinguished and internationally acknowledged track record in research and his contributions to methodological research are widely-acknowledged. He has published 39 publications (35 referred papers in 30 internationally recognised journals (including 4 in press), 1 refereed conference paper, and 3 monographs), with 5 further journal articles currently under peer review and 5 manuscripts in the late stages of preparation. A feature of his research track record is the quality and diversity of his scholarly products. He has published in Statistical, Medical, Cancer, Health Care, Education, Higher Education and Psychology journals. His input to the following publication lists can be interpreted as follows: (a) in cases where he is listed as first author (23%), he has taken the leading role in the conceptual development, analysis and writing of the manuscript; (b) in cases where he is listed as second author (33%), he has generally made contributions to research design, concept, statistical analysis and writing; (c) in other cases, his role varied and included contributions to intellectual development, statistical analysis and writing.
