I have been accepted for membership in the Mountain View High School Marching Band. It is quite an honor to be a part of this group. The members of our band work extremely hard and strive to bring positive recognition to our school and our community.

Young people need an opportunity to further our growth and education in the performing arts. Mountain ViewHigh School offers us just such an opportunity throughparticipation in a performance art of the highest caliber through the Mountain View Marching Band.

Our Band will travel, perform and compete against other high school bands from throughout the state of Virginia and the Mid-Atlantic region. Our season will culminate in late October at the Virginia Band and Orchestra Directors Association’s State Marching Festival. The hours are long and the rehearsals are demanding, but the payoff is the standing ovations received from thousands of fans and the increased skill level I will achieve.

A season in The Mountain View Marching Band will cost a member approximately $225.00 in fees, which covers instruction, travel, uniforms, instruments and equipment. This is where you can make a difference by offering your financial support. Any money you contribute on my behalf goes directly to sponsor me and offset my membership fees.

While the band is supported by the Stafford County Public Schools, a public school system cannot possibly provide us with everything we need. The Mountain View Band Parent’s Association, a nonprofit, 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to the performing arts education of young people in Stafford County, Virginia, also assists the band program with our financial needs. They provide opportunities for the members of the band to earn money through fund-raising events and accept donations on our behalf.Your contribution will be considered a charitable donation and may even be tax deductible.
