I believe that the Chart I made will help anyone trying to read the Book of Revelation and make sense of the Seal, Trumpet, and Vial judgments.
Looking at the Chart we can tell that Chapter 6 is a “snap shot” of the entire Tribulation. Seals 1-5 reveal the consequences of the Anti-Christ’s wars and one world system. The 4 Horsemen of the Apocalypse gallop out together. War wipes out Peace. The ravages of war cause food shortages and the banking system collapses. People are dying by the millions. On top of all this horror, believers in Jesus, after the Rapture will endure constant persecution and most of death. They will be the tribulation Martyrs. Add to this the terrible toll that will be taken on the Jewish people.
Seal 6, if you look at it, is a recap of the Trumpet and Vial judgments that take place in the last 3 ½ years.
12And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood;
13And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind.
14And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places.
15And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains;
16And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb:
17For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?
Can you see that this reflects the end? They want to hide in the rocks so they can be hidden from “Him that sits on the throne” and from “The wrath of the Lamb”
Now look at Seal 7
8And when he had opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven about the space of half an hour.( Silence due to the fact that this is a sobering time. Because here comes The Wrath of God. The last 3 ½ years.)
2And I saw the seven angels which stood before God; and to them were given seven trumpets.
3And another angel came and stood at the altar, having a golden censer; and there was given unto him much incense, that he should offer it with the prayers of all saints upon the golden altar which was before the throne.
4And the smoke of the incense, which came with the prayers of the saints, ascended up before God out of the angel's hand.
5And the angel took the censer, and filled it with fire of the altar, and cast it into the earth: and there were voices, and thunderings, and lightnings, and an earthquake.(The Fire from the Alter has been thrown down to earth. )
6And the seven angels which had the seven trumpets prepared themselves to sound.
7The first angel sounded, and there followed hail and fire mingled with blood, and they were cast upon the earth: and the third part of trees was burnt up, and all green grass was burnt up.( Matches exactly Trumpet #1)
So we can see Seals 6 and 7 are a transition to the Time of Jacobs Trouble.
Trumpets 1-2-3
Imagine the war in heaven has been going on. Satan has lost. He is thrown out in the midst of fire and hail. As he hits earth it causes a GreatMountain to be cast into the sea! Perhaps that’s where Satan landed….and the Mountain erupted as a huge Volcano. The lava flows into the sea. Parts of the mountain ends up in the sea also……..1/3 of the sea turns to blood.
He is “wormwood” and his arrival causes the waters to be bitter. First the sea then the rivers and Fountains. People are dying from these bitter/poisonous waters.
Next Trumpet 4 is blown
Something isn’t right. One third of the sun, moon, and stars light are gone and the Angels are saying WOE…WOE….WOE. Clearly, something horrible is on its way. And it is indeed horrible. Because Trumpet 5 sees Satan getting the keys to the “Bottomless Pit” and he OPENS it !! Heat and smoke rushes out.
Emerging from the smoke we see an image…..it’s a Locust but it looks like a horse with the face of a man. And hair like a woman. We read about them in Joel.
Joel 2: 2-11
2Blow ye the trumpet in Zion, and sound an alarm in my holy mountain: let all the inhabitants of the land tremble: for the day of the Lord cometh, for it is nigh at hand;
2A day of darkness and of gloominess, a day of clouds and of thick darkness, as the morning spread upon the mountains: a great people and a strong; there hath not been ever the like, neither shall be any more after it, even to the years of many generations.
3A fire devoureth before them; and behind them a flame burneth: the land is as the garden of Eden before them, and behind them a desolate wilderness; yea, and nothing shall escape them.
4The appearance of them is as the appearance of horses; and as horsemen, so shall they run.
5Like the noise of chariots on the tops of mountains shall they leap, like the noise of a flame of fire that devoureth the stubble, as a strong people set in battle array.
6Before their face the people shall be much pained: all faces shall gather blackness.
7They shall run like mighty men; they shall climb the wall like men of war; and they shall march every one on his ways, and they shall not break their ranks:
8Neither shall one thrust another; they shall walk every one in his path: and when they fall upon the sword, they shall not be wounded.
9They shall run to and fro in the city; they shall run upon the wall, they shall climb up upon the houses; they shall enter in at the windows like a thief.
10The earth shall quake before them; the heavens shall tremble: the sun and the moon shall be dark, and the stars shall withdraw their shining:
11And the Lord shall utter his voice before his army: for his camp is very great: for he is strong that executed his word: for the day of the Lord is great and very terrible; and who can abide it?
These “Locusts” are Demonic
Their King is Appolyon
They are given power. Power to “sting” with their tails. And if you do not have the “Seal of God” on your forehead, you are fair game for them to sting you. This sting produces painful, grievous sores. Men want to die it is so painful. (Vial 1 and Vial 5) But they can not die. The Locust is allowed to sting and torment men for 5 months. (Perhaps because we are 5 month away from Christ’s second coming?)
The Second WOE
Can it get worse? Yes, it can. 4 (bad) Angels that were bound in the Great Euphrates river are “loosed”. They are loosed for 1 yr.1 month and 1 day. (Is this the time until Jesus returns?)They go on to kill 1/3 of men with fire that comes out of their mouth.Along with the 4 (bad) Angels we are given the number of Locust/Horsemen as 200,000,000 who also kill another 1/3 of mankind. The locust horsemen are probably genetically altered “beasts” Satan has been making them for quite a while. He knows he is out numbered 2 to 1.
We are very close to Christ’s return by the time we look at the Vial Judgments.
The Vial judgments have been poured onto the Trumpet Judgments. They are The Trumpets on steroids
Vial 1: Grievous sores that are so painful people want to die. They gnawed their tongues from the pain. (Vial 5)
Vial 2 is poured out and it is the continuation and bring about the death of all souls in the sea. Wormwood has spread to every thing.
Vial 3 sees wormwood encompass all rivers and “Fountains of water” There is no water to drink any where!
Vial 4 has the sun blazing and sending out blast of gamma rays. It dries up the Euphrates river (Vial 6) and make way for the “Kings of the East” aka the 4 angels that were bound at the EuphratesRiver (woe 2) Could they be the King of Greece. King of Persia. King of Babylon. And the King of Rome?
Will these 4 Kings lead the 200,000,000 Locust/Horse men to Battle against Jesus?
I left Trumpet 7 and Vial 7 to present together. They explain the same outcome.
The Kingdoms of the world become the Kingdoms of Jesus Christ.
The temple is opened and the Ark of Testament can be seen.
Victory has arrived with thundering….lightning……AND THE GREATEST EARTHQUAKE THERE HAS EVER BEEN. With this the Heavens depart as a scroll rolled up and the mountains and Islands flee away.
