My name is Emily Wencel and I am a senior HR major graduating this may. I am from Madison, WI and have been out in Boulder since 2005. I studied abroad in Sydney, Australia fall semester of 2007. I learned so much and had an amazing time meeting new people and learning about different cultures. I grew up skiing, but unfortunately the “mountain” was only 300 feet tall. I guess that’s what you’ll get in the Midwest. I love skiing out here and being able to stay on a run longer than 30 seconds. Some of my other hobbies include hiking, wakeboarding, and snowmobiling.
I believe that I am a great team player who is very conscious about everyone in my team. I always try and make sure everyone is comfortable and happy with the idea that is presented. I try and include everyone so that no one feels left out. I am rarely late and tend to get a little anxious if I am late. You’ll always see me in the waiting room 10 minutes before the scheduled time. If an assignment is given to me in the group, I promise I will get the assignment done on time. I think it is very rude when people have a group counting on them and they don’t follow through. I love to add a little bit of humor into my groups because everyone could use a good laugh every once in a while. Also, I am very organized. A weakness of mine would be that I don’t speak up at first. I tend to be a little nervous for the first week, but once I feel comfortable, I will have no problem contributing my ideas.
I was a manager at Ben & Jerry’s this past year so I will be able to show what I have learned from that in my group. I am hoping to pursue a career in event planning or event production. I would love to some day be a wedding planner.
I am available Monday-Thursday any time after 6:15pm. I am available pretty much all day Friday-Sunday if needed.
I look forward to meeting new people and doing a great job on this team project!
