Hello all,

I am very pleased to let you know that the 2017 phase of the Limerick RP Project is now up and running!

We have received funding from the Social Interventions Fund of Limerick City and County Council. The project is now part time, and will be running until December 2017 (hopefully continued subject to funding availability!). The new opening hours are:

Monday 9.30am - 5pm

Tuesday 9.30am - 5pm

Wednesday 9.30am - 1pm

One of the main areas of focus for the 2017 phase is to work closely with restorative practitioners to develop their practice. We will be doing this to via three main areas of work:

1. RP Champions InitiativeA new mentoring initiative providing bespoke support to 15 individuals, groups or organisations in the Limerick City area who are trying to use restorative approaches. We will work closely with each RP Champion to help them to identify their goals, adapt restorative principles to their environments in a practical way, and work together with them on any aspects of RP they need help with. Apply via online application form by Monday 8th May. Full details here:

2. Restorative Community of Practice

A community ofpractice is a group of people who share a concern or passion for something they do, and who interact regularly to learn how to do it better. We will be running a Restorative Community of Practice for anyone interested in RP, starting in May. Full details here:

3. How To Guide

RP can be vague and difficult to understand, because the language used to describe it tends to be lofty and academic. Later this year we will be developing a step-by-step How To Guide for a general audience. We would really like stories and experiences of RP in Limerick to be included in this guide - if you have an example of RP you would be willing to share, please let me know.

The 2017 project is not offering training due to funding and time restraints, however we can recommend experienced freelance trainers who you can approach if you need training. Please email me for more details. We also hope that through the Community of Practice, those who have not yet received training can learn from their peers already using RP.

We are also beginning a new strand of work supporting Limerick communities with a number restorative initiatives. More details to be announced very soon!

We have redesigned our website, just launched today:

We are going to be using this website as an online hub for learning about RP. Local, Irish and international resources will be regularly uploaded in our Resources section - keep an eye out for these!

Posters are available to download from our website at this link:

Printed posters will be available soon, please email me if you would like copies for your organisation/school.

We have a new Facebook page

and an even newer Twitter

Many thanks and please do not hesitate to get in touch with me about all things RP!

Take care,

Caitlin
