Hyundai Motor Receives Honours in
Auto Express New Car Awards 2014 in U.K.
- Hyundai Santa Fe wins ‘Best Large SUV’ beating tough competition
- Strong residual values on Hyundai Santa Fe allow for highly competitive Personal Contract Purchase (PCP) and Contract Hire rates
July 16, 2014–The Hyundai Santa Fe 2.2-litre CRDi Premium has been awarded Best Large SUV by Auto Express magazine in the annual New Car awards.
The Santa Fe, now in its second full year of sales, fought off competition from the Land Rover Discovery and Range Rover Sport to win the title for the second year running.
Steve Fowler, editor-in-chief, Auto Express said: “The Hyundai Santa Fe is a brilliant way to transport a family. It’s comfortable, spacious and efficient, with the cool looks that buyers of these sorts of SUVs demand. It also offers tremendous value compared to less talented, big name rivals.”
Tony Whitehorn, President & CEO said: “To receive this award for the second consecutive year is a tremendous achievement. The Santa Fe was launched in October 2012 and has struck a chord with customers looking for a large SUV that delivers everything expected from a premium model but in a more affordable package. Strong residuals also mean that Santa Fe stacks up well for fleet buyers too with an exceptional Contract Hire rate.”
The Santa Fe 2.2-litre CRDi 4WD is available in both 5- and 7-seat versions with either manual or automatic transmissions. Alongside the award for Santa Fe, Hyundai Motor was also honoured with a ‘Highly Commended’ for the New Generation i10.
Steve Fowler also commented: “Hyundai’s i10 offers that elusive big car feel in a small car package. In fact, it feels anything but small: it’s spacious inside, is fun to drive, packed with hi-tech kit and impressively refined on the move. On top of all that, it’s affordable to buy and run.”
