PARENTS

We would appreciate it if you are at a home ballgame that you supervise your own children in the stands by having them sit with you and minimize their trips to the lobby during the game. Our gym is small and it if for the safety of the players and referees. Thank you.

BOOSTER CLUB ANNUAL SOUP SUPPER

The Annual Soup Supper at HyshamSchool will be Friday Feb. 8th, 2013 during the Hysham vs. Melstone basketball games. Best cooks of the county will prepare their favorite soups. – it’s an all you can eat dinner! $5 per person or $16 per family. Serving starts at 5 p.m. in the multi-purpose room. Sponsored by Hysham Booster Club to help support the many HyshamSchool student activities. Thank you to the Hysham community for the soup suppers success - you make it possible!

ATHLETIC CO-OP DISCUSSION

The Hysham Board will be discussing sports co-ops at their next Board Meeting (Monday, February 11th). This will be an open discussion and concerned people are invited to voice their concerns. The Board has started collecting other co-op agreements and will be looking at these and other options. At this time, the Board has not entered into any co-op agreement with any other school.

BINGO PARTY

The Hysham Chamber is sponsoring a bingo party on Sunday, Feb. 10th from 12:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the HyshamCommunity Center. Refreshments will be available. See you there!

WEDNESDAY NIGHT – PARENT REMINDER

Students are NOT to be in the school building on Wednesday’s after 6:30 p.m. Use of the gym and multi-purpose room on Wednesday evenings is for adults only.

SENIOR NIGHT-BASKETBALL

We will honor our senior basketball players and manager on Friday, Feb. 8th during the Melstone basketball games. Those being honored will be basketball players: Matt Kolb, Austan Rogers, James Warren, Brooke Hollowell and manager Kaitlyn Icopini. They will be honored between the boys and girls games which will be around 6:45 p.m. Hope to see you there!

TOURNEY INFORMATION

The District 4-C Tournament will begin Tuesday, Feb. 12th in MilesCity. It will run for 5 days total. Games will be held at both the community college and CCDHSHigh School. Bracket is attached – please note venue’s on the brackets for boys and girls.

Ticket prices are as follows:

Adult $10.00 (1 game or the entire day)

Student $ 6.00 (1 game or the entire day)

All-Session Passes:

Adult: $ 40.00

Student$ 25.00

If you are interested in purchasing all-session passes, they will be available at the school office. Please make checks payable to Hysham Schools. Last day for all-session ticket sales in Hysham is Tuesday morning, Feb. 12th. We will not know our placing in the tournament until Monday morning…please call the school for questions! Go Pirates!

HYSHAM SCIENCE FAIR

The Hysham Science Fair will be Tuesday, Feb. 5th for grades 8,9 & 10 – please mark your calendars to come see the students projects that will be displayed in the multi-purpose room beginning at 6 p.m.. Good Luck participants!

NO SCHOOL NEXT THURSDAY AND FRIDAY (FEB. 14TH OR 15TH)

There will be no school next Thursday, Feb. 14th or Friday, Feb. 15th. School will resume on Monday, Feb. 18th. Thank you!

PLEASE HELP US HELP OUR TROOPS

The St. Joseph’s Youth Group is sponsoring a community service project involving sending gift boxes to our soldiers in Afghanistan. They are asking for donations from the community to help fill the boxes so local soldiers Eric Fay and Steven Moehr along with other members of their teams will know that someone cares and appreciates their service. Please drop off items at the school where there is a collection box or call 342-5737 for a pickup of items.

ROCKY SIGNS SENIOR MATT KOLB FOR FOOTBALL

Matt Kolb, an all-conference and all-state selection at Hysham High School last fall, has signed a letter of intent with the football program at Rocky Mountain College. The 6-foot, 180 pound Kolb helped quarterback Hysham into the 6-Man football quarterfinals last season. He has also been chosen to play in the 17th annual 6-Man All-Star Game on June 1st, 2013 in Custer. A three-year starter, Kolb played at quarterback and running back on offense last season for the Pirates, and outside linebacker and safety on defense. Kolb will be a candidate to play safety at Rocky Battlin’ Bears Coach Brian Armstrong said.
