HOW GREAT THOU ART

O Lord my God, When I in awesome wonder,

Consider all the worlds Thy Hands have made;

I see the stars, I hear the rolling thunder,

Thy power throughout the universe displayed.

Refrain:

Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,

How great Thou art, How great Thou art.

Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,

How great Thou art, How great Thou art!

When through the woods, and forest glades I wander,

And hear the birds sing sweetly in the trees.

When I look down, from lofty mountain grandeur

And see the brook, and feel the gentle breeze.Ref...

------(Stand up)------

When Christ shall come, with shout of acclamation,

And take me home, what joy shall fill my heart.

Then I shall bow, in humble adoration,

And then proclaim: "My God, how great Thou art!"Ref...

  1. Reading The Law Of God: The Ten Commandment and The Meaning

L:Hear the Law of Our LordThe Ten Commandment

The First Commandment

I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. You shall have no other gods before me.

What does this mean? We should fear, love, and trust in God above all things.

The Second Commandment

You shall not make for yourself a graven image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth; you shall not bow down to them or serve them.

What does this mean? We should fear and love God that we may not despise preaching and His Word, but hold it sacred and gladly hear and learn it.

The Third Commandment

You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless who takes his name in vain.

What does this mean? We should fear and love God that we may not curse, swear, use witchcraft, lie, or deceive by His name, but call upon it in every trouble, pray, praise, and give thanks.

The Fourth Commandment

Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days you shall labor, and do all your work; but the seventh day is a sabbath to the LORD your God; in it you shall not do any work, you, or your son, or your daughter, your manservant, or your maidservant or your cattle, or the sojourner who is within your gates; for in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day; therefore the Lord blessed the sabbath day and hallowed it.

What does this mean? We should fear and love God that we may not despise preaching and His Word, but hold it sacred and gladly hear and learn it.

The Fifth Commandment

Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long in the land which the LORD your God gives you.

What does this mean? We should fear and love God that we may not despise our parents and masters, nor provoke them to anger, but give them honor, serve and obey them, and hold them in love and esteem.

The Sixth Commandment

You shall not kill.

What does this mean? We should fear and love God that we may not hurt nor harm our neighbor in his body, but help and befriend him in every bodily need.

The Seventh Commandment

You shall not commit adultery.

What does this mean? We should fear and love God that we may lead a caste and decent life in word and deed, and each love and honor his spouse.

The Eighth Commandment

You shall not steal.

What does this mean? We should fear and love God that we may not take our neighbor’s money or goods, nor get them by false ware or dealing, but help him to improve and protect his property and business.

The Ninth Commandment

You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.

What does this mean? We should fear and love God that we may not deceitfully belie, betray, slander, nor defame our neighbor, but defend him, speak well of him, and put the best construction on everything.

The Tenth Commandment

You shall not covet your neighbor's house; you shall not covet your neighbor's wife, or his manservant, or his maidservant, or his ox, or his ass, or anything that is your neighbor's.

What does this mean? We should fear and love God that we may not estrange, force, or entice away from our neighbor his wife, servants, or cattle, but urge them to stay and do their duty.

L:Let’s pray to ask the power of God to empower us to do His Law

L + C:God our Father in Heaven, strengthen us to be able to do Your Law.Amen

  1. Reading the Word of God

L: The reading of Word of God for our Sunday Service today is written in Isaiah 55:1-5

55:1 The LORD says, "Come, everyone who is thirsty-- here is water! Come, you that have no money-- buy grain and eat! Come! Buy wine and milk-- it will cost you nothing!

55:2 Why spend money on what does not satisfy? Why spend your wages and still be hungry? Listen to me and do what I say, and you will enjoy the best food of all.

55:3 "Listen now, my people, and come to me; come to me, and you will have life! I will make a lasting covenant with you and give you the blessings I promised to David.

55:4 I made him a leader and commander of nations, and through him I showed them my power.

55:5 Now you will summon foreign nations; at one time they did not know you, but now they will come running to join you! I, the LORD your God, the holy God of Israel, will make all this happen; I will give you honor and glory."

(after reading) “This is the word of Lord” Blessed are those who hear the word of God and keep It.

L+C: Amen

  1. Hymn: IH 446:1-3

IN TENDERNESS HE SOUGHT ME

1 In tenderness He sought me,Weary and sick with sin,

And on His shoulders brought me; Back to His fold again.

While angels in His presence sang

Until the courts of heaven rang.

Refrain:

O the love that sought me! O the blood that bought me!

O the grace that brought me to the fold,Wondrous grace that brought me to the fold!

2 He washed the bleeding sin-wounds; And poured in oil and wine;

He whispered to assure me,“I’ve found thee, thou art Mine;”

I never heard a sweeter voice; It made my aching heart rejoice! (Refrain)

------(Stand up)------

3 He pointed to the nail prints,For me His blood was shed,

A mocking crown so thorny; Was placed upon His head:

I wondered what He saw in me; To suffer such deep agony. (Refrain)

  1. The Apostle’s Creed

L: My brother and my sister, let’s say the Apostle’s creed together.

I believe in God the Father, Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth.

I believe in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord: Who was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate; He was crucified, dead and buried: He descended into hell: On the third day, He rose again from the dead: He ascended into heaven, and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty: From thence He will come again to judge the living and the dead:

I believe in the Holy Spirit; The holy Christian church; The communion of saints; The forgiveness of sins: The resurrection of the body: And the life everlasting. Amen. ----- (Sit down) ---

  1. Sermon (Preaching): Matthew 14:13-21

14:13 When Jesus heard the news about John, he left there in a boat and went to a lonely place by himself. The people heard about it, and so they left their towns and followed him by land.

14:14 Jesus got out of the boat, and when he saw the large crowd, his heart was filled with pity for them, and he healed their sick.

14:15 That evening his disciples came to him and said, "It is already very late, and this is a lonely place. Send the people away and let them go to the villages to buy food for themselves."

14:16 "They don't have to leave," answered Jesus. "You yourselves give them something to eat!"

14:17 "All we have here are five loaves and two fish," they replied.

14:18 "Then bring them here to me," Jesus said.

14:19 He ordered the people to sit down on the grass; then he took the five loaves and the two fish, looked up to heaven, and gave thanks to God. He broke the loaves and gave them to the disciples, and the disciples gave them to the people.

14:20 Everyone ate and had enough. Then the disciples took up twelve baskets full of what was left over.

14:21 The number of men who ate was about five thousand, not counting the women and children.
