I. Announcements…

  • Chick-Fil-A fundraiser went very well- we raised money for more than a kid from the wheel and haven’t received the other check yet, but between Jelly Beans and Chick-Fil-A we have enough money for the field trip according to PTA
  • Williamsburg is next Tuesday, March 26th-discussed packing lunches on Monday- reminded teachers about medicines, permission forms, contact forms, forming groups, and other important information- t-shirts will be passed out on Monday
  • Case 21 will be Thursday, Friday, and Monday- then in the afternoons we will just focus on math and Williamsburg activities- Conrad/Trost and Belluz/Hyde will decide how to switch their kids
  • Discussed Leadership Notes

II. Kid Talk
  • Multiplying/Dividing Fraction Unit Assessment- After a few days of mixed review this was the final unit assessment before the Quarter 3 Wrap-Up
  • Mann- was excited how many students made progress from multiplying assessment and the division SWYK, but am concerned about the quarter 3 wrap-up when all objectives are mixed on the same assessment- they seem to do better with skills in isolation, but struggle when reading a word problem and deciding which operation to perform
  • Belluz- is concerned that 9 students got a 1 on the end of unit assessment in her class and 11 students in Hyde’s homeroom-after an entire quarter of instruction on fractions that many students still are lacking in understanding
  • Conrad- not surprised about students who got 1s because they have struggled all year and receive extra support

Passed with 80%
Mann / 80%
Belluz / 37%
Hyde / 41%
Trost / 48%
Conrad / 39%
  • Mueller- discussed how 45 invitations to multiplication club went home based on pre-test, however, regularly 10 students are attending- students have the opportunity to focus on this essential skill but are choosing not to take advantage of this educational experience
  • Mueller- discussed science students- removed 1 student who wasn’t putting forth best effort- discussed replacing students who are making progress

III. Planning/ Curriculum

  • Will meet Friday during planning to discuss the week after Spring Break for lesson plans

Critical Questions of a Professional Learning Community:

What is it we expect our students to learn?

How will we know when they have learned it?

How will we support them when they don’t learn it?

How will we respond when they already know it?
