Job Description
Job Title:Corporate Fundraiser
Responsible To:Head of Fundraising
Location:Home Based or Head Office
Job Purpose:
To develop existing and new corporate partnersin order to achieve set income targets.
To identify and recruit partners for all types of corporate support, including charity of the year, sponsorship and payroll giving.
Main Duties:
Initiating Fundraising:
With regard to the fundraising plan, employ the following means, and others as appropriate, to achieve/exceed agreed targets.
- Research and identify potential national and local corporate partners.
- Understand prospective partners with a view to maximizing sustainable opportunities.
- Build a knowledge-based plan of action for approaching each prospect and write a Corporate Strategic Plan.
- Market the Charity activities, events and promotions to potential corporate partners.
- Research, identify, apply for and secure sponsorship and grants.
- Get to know the work of the Charity in order to pursue and confirm opportunities for Charity of the Year.
- Build an effective and productive working relationship with corporate partners.
- Make presentations and targeted approaches to local business senior management teams and employees in order to pursue and developPayroll Giving as a regular source of income for the Association.
- Work with Head of Fundraising to set annual targets and objectives which will be regularly evaluated.
- Attend external networking events in order to raise the profile of the charity, its activities, events and promotions, and connect with the local business community.
- To contribute to the development and future planning of the HDA by means of regular attendance and proactive involvement of team meetings and Annual General Meetings.
- To plan and participate in staff supervision and appraisals as required.
- To attend personal development and training activities as agreed/directed by the line manager.
- To undertake any other duties as directed from time to time to meet the exigencies of the service.
Developing Fundraising Income Streams:
- Build, nurture and maintain warm relationships with existing corporate supporters and network contacts.
- Market the Charity activities, events and promotions to existing corporate partners.
- Work to ensure corporate supporters find supporting to be a positive and rewarding experience.
- Work closely with the Events Support Co-ordinator to increase awareness of Corporate fundraising and also support via participation in appropriate events and fundraising opportunities.
- Support with Events fundraising when appropriate.
General:
This job description is a representative document. Other reasonably similar duties may be allocated from time to time commensurate with the general character of the post and its grading.
There will be an expectation that the post holder will work some evenings and weekends. There will be occasional overnight stays. Time will normally be taken back in lieu of hours worked.
Out of pocket expenses including travel and mileage allowances will be paid on receipt of appropriate claim forms and invoices/receipts.
Staff will be expected to undertake any development and training that has been identified.
All staff are responsible for the implementation of the Health and Safety Policy so far as it affects them, their colleagues and others who may be affected by their work. The post holder is also expected to monitor the effectiveness of the health and safety arrangements and systems to promote improvements where necessary.
This post is exempt from the provisions of Section 4(2) of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975. You are therefore not entitled to withhold information about convictions which for any other purposes are ‘spent’ under the provisions of the Act. Any failure to disclose such convictions could result in dismissal or disciplinary action by the HDA. Any information given will be completely confidential and will be considered only in relation to the positions to which the Order applies.
