BID DESCRIPTION: Modification of the TARMIIfp software to TARMII 3.0
- INTRODUCTION
The Human Sciences Research Council (HSRC) is a Schedule 3A national public entity in terms of the Public Finance Management Act, 1999 (Act No. 1 of 1999 as amended) and the Minister of Science and Technology is the Executive Authority, and the HSRC Board the Accounting Authority of the HSRC. The HSRC is governed by a Board appointed by the Minister of Science and Technology.
The Human Sciences Research Council (HSRC) in collaboration with the Department of Basic Education (DBE) has developed an assessment software called TARMIIfp (Teacher Assessment Resources for Monitoring and Improving Instruction for foundation phase teachers). The software houses a data base of assessment activities and other teaching resources and functionalities that provide opportunities for teachers to diagnose their learners’ weaknesses and strength in specific literacy curriculum areas. The software was developed on Plone, an open source content management system developed in Python.
The HSRC is currently looking for a service provider that would be able to continue working from the current system developed and add on modifications to the system based on specifications from the HSRC research team and DBE.
2. Evaluation criteria:
Preference Points System is 90/10. The minimum threshold on functionality is 75% to qualify for further evaluation stages.
