HSE Advisor with Saudi Aramco
- Carry out annual ‘HSE Gap Analysis’ audit on contractor rigs for assessing three aspects i.e. availability of relevant policies & procedures, understanding and implementation of these policies and procedures.
- Carry out bi-annual ‘Rig HSE Inspections’ on contractor rig and the follow ups to ensure minimum requirements are adhered to as per Saudi Aramco standards.
- Carry out pre-commencement inspections on the contractor rigs and the follow ups to ensure minimum requirements are adhered to as per Saudi Aramco standards.
- Perform incident investigations on contractor rigs and ensure all root causes are identified and SMARTER corrective actions are developed and implemented.
- Provide advice and consultation to department staff to assist them in maintaining a safe working environment in compliance with HSE regulations, standards and practices.
- Implement the corporate HSE policy and monitor compliance. This includes the supervision of local surveys and sampling as well as the interpretation of measurement results.
- Stay current with all applicable HSE regulations, standards, procedures and guidelines as well as all SAUDI ARAMCO HSE programs.
- Respond to concerns and requests for information from concerned departments.
- Help organize and participate in major HSE surveys such as all Safety/environmental related surveys, inspections, and assessments.
- Review and comment on HSE aspects of contract documents.
- Provide needed support for the implementation of HSE programs.
- Attend major HSE meetings and other related courses and conferences.
- Enhance HSE awareness by organizing presentations and video sessions, distributing information, and setting a good example.
- Write formal reports, HSE articles for company publications, and develop/deliver presentations.
- Coordinate ongoing HSE projects, such as : Safety Management System (SMS)/Environmental Management System (EMS) - related activities within the organization as appropriate, including the development of safety/environmental objectives and indicators, tracking of performance and costs, and record-keeping and reporting functions.
- Identify and evaluate hazardous conditions and practices in the workplace.
- Conduct and coordinate on-site inspections to audit physical conditions and safe work practices and provide advice and counsel concerning compliance with corporate safety regulations and procedures.

Rig HSE Specialist with Baker Hughes Integrated Operations
- Ensure that all the risks associated with Simultaneous Operations (SIMPOS) are managed proactively.
- Perform work in accordance with Baker Hughes HSE policies and procedures.
- Manage, apply and ensure adherence to Project policies, procedures and the specific Interface Documentation.
- Assist the Project Team to implement and monitor HSE systems.
- Promote, with management, a positive & proactive safety culture within the workplace.
- Support HSE initiatives as requested by the BHIO HSE Manager and /or Region HSE Director / Geomarket HSE Country Manager.
- Recommend activities and changes to promote Best Practice, reduce risk and to prevent HSE incidents.
- Use good interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with the team.
- Ensure that HRAs are carried out and documented for all tasks, and that HRA’s are reviewed periodically and updated if necessary.
- Verify that a JHA is conducted by each crew before each task or at the start of each shift.
- Conduct regular technical, safety based rigsite inspections including checking the certification, and safety status of drilling equipment.
- Monitor and ensure all rig site H2S contingency provisions are continuously applied to standard.
- Ensure that all incidents, accidents and near misses are reported immediately to applicable managers & 3rd parties.
- Facilitate the formal investigation process which will be led by the Line Manager.
- Arrange and/or conduct HSE training for drilling crews in accordance with hazards identified in the HRA’s.
- Facilitate all safety meetings on site.
- Conduct Onsite HSE Orientation for new hired employees and visitors.
- Ensure that all waste materials are disposed of appropriately & legally.
- Ensure all personnel wear appropriate PPE for the task.
- Ensure that there is adequate PPE stock for all personnel.
- Prepare written reports & presentations for project activities and preventive safety measures.
- Analyze information and effectively communicate findings.
- Other duties / tasks as required by the BHIO & Geomarket HSE Manager and Operation Manager.
