HRC 18:00 Group Club Series 2018
Purpose:The HRC 18:00 Group Club Series races are to be run, where possible, on the second Wednesday of each month, from March through to December. The races are mainly arranged to provide an enjoyable, sociable and friendly environment for runners to race other members of the running club; during the Summer months (May to Sept), the Club Series runs will be round the golf course near The Rec. Each runners start time is staggered based on the predicted speed of the runner, so that if all runners run their expected time they would all finish together. Where a runner has no predicted start time (i.e. the first time of running a Club Series race) an estimate is made, but they will not be eligible to score any points from the race or for a monthly prize.
Qualification: the 18:00 Group Club Series is open to anybody who wishes to take part, but the overall annual award is only open to:
- HRC subscribed members (subscription paid by 30thJune of Club Series year)
- Runners with a previous / known predicted time
- Runners who have not progressed to the 19:00 group
Start times:these are based on a runner’s previously known / recorded times over a known distance, and then re-calculated according to the distance of the race. Where a runner's finish time is at least 30 seconds slower than their predicted time their new start time for the next race over a similar distance may be increased by up to 30 seconds. Where their finish time is faster, their new predicted time will be decreased based on the time achieved.
