Registered Manager –Ecclesbourne Lodge

JOB TITLE:Residential Manager

MAIN LOCATION:Ecclesbourne lodge Duffield Derbyshire

RESPONSIBLE TO:Area Manager

SUBORDINATES: Shift Leaders and Residential Support Workers

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

-Manage a residential establishment for up to 10 people.

-Develop strategic plans in conjunction with the Area Manager.

-Support service users and their families.

-Develop appropriate policies and proceduresin conjunction with the Area Manager.

-Assist to manage and monitor a delegated budgetin conjunction with the Area Manager.

-Develop residents’ transition, intervention, care and development plans appropriately.

-Liaise with community based resources and services to ensure a holistic package of care is delivered.

-To be accountable to and to work in successful partnership with Derbyshire Local Authority and meet their expectations at all times.

KEY TASKS:

-To act as Service/Registered Manager.

-To Work closely with the Area Manager keeping him/her fully informed of any developments or decisions needed.

-To work as part of a seamless team with Area Manager and other Transitional home Registered Manager supporting atthe other site where needed or deemed necessary.

-To attend and chair meetings and represent Ecclesbourne lodge and the organisation in furtherance of its aims and objectives.

-To efficiently manage resources, including staff resources, within an agreed budget. Ensure all equipment and buildings are safe, clean and in a satisfactory condition at all times under the guidance of the Area Manager.

-Maintain up to date records in respect of residents, staffing, medical and financial matters including all CQC relevant documentation.

-Tomanage and continually monitor the service provision.Take appropriate action to amend/improve as necessary and proactively under the guidance of the Area Manager.

-To access local community services such as GP, dietician, Psychiatry etc. ensuring the holistic needs of the residents are met at all times.

-Work within the principals of Person Centred Planning and ensure that all work practices and staff interaction follows the same approach.

-To ensure that adequate induction, training, supervision and appraisals (or any other internal performance system) is provided for all staff regularly.

-Assist in the recruitment and selection process of staff

-Manage the formal disciplinary and grievance procedure for staff as required and where appropriate – with support from Area Manager and Human Resources.

-To ensure all policies and all legal requirements are adhered to, including the Health & Social Care Act 2012,CQC requirements including theessential standards 2015, fundamental standards and the Care act 2014. Health & Safety legislation and the Essential Standards of Quality & Safety.

-To perform on-call duties as part of a rota as and when required and ensure staff are fully supported in the care of residents, which can include evenings and weekends.

-To coordinate specialist input and participate in the selection and assessment process for service users.

-To facilitate and monitor individual resident’s development and transition and to liaise with their families and placing authorities.

To work in conjunction with other members of the staff team to prepare reports for the Area Manager and Directors as required.

Working in partnership with the Plant Centre and Tea Rooms and their staff group.

As with all SENAD staff, take joint responsibility for safeguarding children and vulnerable adults, adhering to all safeguarding policies and reporting any concerns immediately. Act as Safeguarding lead for your location, ensuring sound policy implementation and that all staff are fully trained and demonstrate sound practice in this area.

To work as part of the team across the Group - promoting the policies, vision and ethos of the organisation, in particular in relation to Equality & Diversity and the Equal Opportunities Policies and Procedures.

To undertake training required to promote personalandprofessional development.

-To perform any other duties that might be reasonably required of a Registered Manager as directed by the Area Manager

RESPOSIBLE FOR:

-An annual budget in conjunction with the Area Managerand the Directors.

-Service users of the services and associated staff group.

-Office, accommodation and premises at the home.

-Maintainingand operating a system for the management of resident’s personal monies.

-The administration and storage of medication.

-The following and developing of policies and procedures to ensure the service meets all legal requirements.

-Ensuring all regulations and standards for CQC inspections are met with supporting evidence available for scrutiny.
