How to sign up for SCHOOLOGY!!!!

  1. For if you DON’T already havea Schoology account:

Step 1: Using your Internet browser, go to

Step 2: Click on the big blue box that says “Sign up for free.”

Step 3: You should get a screen with three choices. Choose “student” and click on it.

Step 4: You will get a screen that asks for a password. ENTER ITIN ALL CAPS, AND INCLUDES THE DASH! If you don’t type it in exactly, it won’t work.

Step 5: Enter password.ZGCHG-FXJPZ

Step 6: A screen will come up asking you for information. Your first and last name, your email address (you have to have one for this to work!!!), and a password. MAKE SURE YOUR PASSWORD IS A WORD AND A NUMBER!!! And make sure you write down your email address and password somewhere where you won’t lose it!!! (EX: Parsons1) You will repeat this where it says “confirm password.”

Step 7: If all goes well, you will be taken to a screen that says “Welcome to Schoology!” Here you will find two choices on the screen. Choose “edit profile.”

Step 8: A box will pop up that will allow you to access your new profile. You can add birthday and gender information and also pick a profile picture (upload one or use one of the generic ones they give you!).

NOTE: Do NOT add your home address or your phone number to this contact information section. Why? Well, privacy is important and we don’t want everyone and anyone to have that info! So, just leave it blank!!!

Step 9: Once you have finished with your profile, click “Save.”

Step 10: Next, go to the left hand side of your page and click GROUPS.

Step 11: Your screen should have a group on it: NRMS History Club.Click on that, and it will take you to the group page! This is the page where you’ll find discussions and posts.

Step 12: Play around with the site and make sure you log off when you’re done! (on back…)

Remember: only members of thegroup (and Mr. Parsons and Ms. Mehling!) can access this particular group, no one else. Be kind and respectful in your posts and make sure that you keep anything you type school appropriate, or you’ll run into trouble!!!! Above all, have fun! Lots of things including dates, committee meetings and other important info will travel to you through Schoology, so make sure you log in often to check!

  1. For if you ALREADY HAVESchoology…

Many of you may already have a Schoology account through a class in school. All you have to do to join is the following:

  1. Step 1: Using your Internet browser, go to
  2. Login using your email address and password.
  3. When you get to your main screen, go down to the left-hand side menu where it says “Groups.” Click on “Groups.”
  4. The new screen will have a button that says “join group” at the top right of the page. Underneath, it says “use access code.” Click on this.
  5. In the box that pops up, enter the special password: ZGCHG-FXJPZ
  6. Once entered, you should now be a part of the group! You can click on NRMS History Club and begin interacting!!!!
