The game was inspired by Bluebyte's Settlers II, but has significantly more variety and depth.
In Widelands you are the ruler of a small clan. Your task is to build an ever-growing settlement, and each member of your clan will do its part to produce more resources to foster this growth.
Widelands offers a single player mode with campaigns that tell stories of the tribes and their struggle in the Widelands universe. Widelands also offers artificial intelligence to challenge you.
However, the establishment really begins when you team up with friends over the Internet or LAN to build new empires together - or to smash each other in the clouds of war.

Then you can install the Widelands game on Linux via Flatpak by doing the following:
Step 1. Open a terminal;
Step 2. Use the command below to install the program via Flatpak. Be patient as it can often take several minutes for Flatpak to download everything you need;flatpak install --user
Step 3. To update the program, when a new version is available, run the command:
flatpak --user update org.widelands.Widelands
Ready! Now when you want to start the program, type flatpak run org.widelands.Widelands into a terminal.
You can also try launching the program from the Applications / Dash / Activities menu or any other application launcher in your distro, or type widelands or at a terminal, followed by the TAB key.
To uninstall the game Widelands on Linux via Flatpak by doing the following:
Step 1. Open a terminal;
Step 2. Uninstall the program using the following command on the terminal:
