How to get to Novi Sad!?!?!?!?

  1. BY AIR: Novi Sad DOESN’T have an airport but you can try to find cheap flights to some of the airports in the “area”.
  2. BELGRADE: Since few months ago some low-cost companies started flying (or will shortly start flying) to “Nikola Tesla” airport in Belgrade. Germanwings ( Fly Nikki ( and Wizzair ( But also some good deals could be found with Spainair and Norwegian Airways.
  3. TIMISOARA (Romania): You should definitely try this one! The smallest airport I have ever been to but also has some of the best deals Wizzair has to offer.
  4. BUDAPEST (Hungary): All of the mayor low-cost companies stop here and this would also be a good place to land. Try: Wizzair (it is the companies headquarters in Budapest so they should have good deals), Easyjet, Ryanair, Germanwings and Vueling.
  5. ZAGREB (Croatia): You might even find your best deal with Wizzair to Zagreb but that is not the most likely solution because of the transportation to Novi Sad from there.

*I know you are wondering about how to get from those airports to Novi Sad and you will have your answers at the end of this mail.

  1. BY TRAIN: The only destination you may want to take the train from is probably Budapest. All the other countries that you may start your journey from have good websites that can help you plan your trip.

You have 3 trains per day from Budapest to Novi Sad (10:05h; 13:00h and 23:00h) and the ticket is 15€ one way. You can also browse around

and find some of your answers.

  1. BY BUS: I can’t go through all the countries and their connections to Novi Sad but I can give you some web pages that can help you get the information you need.

Firsltly, Hungarian company Orangeways ( is opening new routes from many places in Europe to Budapest and then to Novi Sad and Belgrade. The prices are cheep and you might want to check it out.

„Lasta“ ( is the mayor Serbian bus company and they are also working as part of Eurolines, which I’m sure most of you have already used in past.

ATP Vojvodina is the mayor bus company from Novi Sad ( but it appears their web page is temporary down. Keep trying :)

How to get from surounding airports to Novi Sad?

1. BELGRADE: There are 2 ways to get from Belgrade airport to Novi Sad. To get straight from airport to Novi Sad or to go to Belgrade bus/train station (they are next to each other) and take bus/train to Novi Sad. I would strongly recommend the first one because it’s much easier for you and much harder to get lost in the process :)

There is a company Autoturist ( from Novi Sad that will get you straight from the airport to the dormitory in Novi Sad where you will be staying. They are not expensive and if there is more of you coming on the same flight or in 1-2 hours interval we can arrange for you to travel together and for the cheaper price! (it gets down to 10€ per person).

Other option is to get from the airport to Belgrade (local bus number 72). Bus will get you to “Zeleni venac” stop which is 5min walk from both bus or train station. Keep in mind that in Serbia trains are much cheaper then buses. This journey will cost you about 5€ if you are taking a train or 10€ by bus, but it will take you FAR MORE time.

2. BUDAPEST: The same applies here as it does for Belgrade. Either directly from airport to Novi Sad or from airport to train/bus station and then to Novi Sad. I recommend the first option here as well. The companies Autoturist from Novi Sad and Gea Tours ( from Belgrade are both offering the service. I personally haven’t traveled with Autoturist but have with Gea Tours for more then 20 times and in the past we have encouraged our participants to take one of those transportations. They take you straight from the airport to your home address or in this case dormitory. They both charge 40€ one way. It might seem a bit expensive but it still beats the complications and large amount of time you would spend otherwise.

Other option is to go to center of Budapest and take train/bus. If there are enthusiasts that want to take this route I will help them do just that but without spamming the rest.

3.TIMISOARA: For these airport I would only recommend Autoturist (25€ one way)! Everything else would be too complicated and more expensive.

4. ZAGREB: Again, my recommendation is Autoturist (I swear I don’t work on the percentage). From Zagreb they charge 40€ one way but again if there are daredevils among you folks that want to try other ways please let me know I’ll make sure you get all the necessary information.
