Search for your students to add to your list in the search bar at the top of the page, or add students to your list from the “List Suggestions.”
Select “Manage List” to determine what information you want to view about from that group. For example, if you are not interested in seeing their updates about what kind of weekend they had, you can unclick “photos” and “status updates.”
Note: When a student tries to friend you after you have set up your list, you will be able to automatically place them in a list when you approve their friend request.
II. Managing your personal Facebook Wall.
On the drop down menu next to the “Home” button, click “Privacy Settings.”
Under “Control Your Default Privacy,” click “Custom.”
Type in the name of your list under “Hide this from” to hide personal photos and posts from your students.
Click “Edit Settings” next to “How You Connect.” You only have two options. If you don’t want your students to post directly to your personal wall, click “only me.” This will keep everybody from being able to post directly on your personal wall.
To control if your students can see pictures and posts that people tag you in, click “Edit Settings” for “How Tags Work.”
Turn “on” profile review to approve posts that people tag you in.
Turn “on” tag review to make sure that it is okay for people to tag themselves in posts that you post on your Facebook wall.
Select “Custom” for maximum profile visibility so that particular lists of people can’t see the photos that are on your profile.
If you select these settings for your profile page, your students will have minimal access to the content on your page!
