The University is required to certify student’s applications by completing the relevant section of the form once the student has shown a commitment to attending the course – usually 2 weeks after enrolment for new students and at enrolment for continuing students. The government will assess eligibility for this support. This guide is for use by administration staff, to assist them in completing this section.

The University is required to complete section 3of PTGFD, section 5 of PTGC or section 6 of PTGN (if no PTGFD form submitted):

Course fees

The course fee should be verified with the Revenue Unit Tel 01443 482196.

Course start and end date

These should be the start and end dates for the 2016/17 academic year.

SLC/UCAS code

Enter either the SLC or UCAS code for the institution as follows:

  • The Student Loans Company (SLC) code for the University is POWE
  • The UCAS code for the institution is W01

Confirm that:

  • The student is undertaking the course they have stated on their application (see section 4 of the application form)
  • Length of the part-time course
  • Length of the equivalent full-time course (if there is no equivalent, please check the length of your course with your faculty)
  • The intensity of study (the form explains how to do this)
  • The course is designated for student support – most standard undergraduate degrees (including PGCEs) and HNC/Ds are normally designated for support (if you are unsure, please verify with Academic Registry).

You then need to complete your details and stamp the form with an official University stamp.

The student will then return their form to:
