COST OF PERMITS
Salary Bands
Unless otherwise indicated below the cost of permits is subject to salary band:
Band ‘A’ £44.00 (salary up to £11,000)
Band ‘B’ £80.00 (salary between £11,001 - £20,000)
Band ‘C’ £175.00 (salary between £20,001 - £30,000)
Band ‘D’ £288.00 (salary between £30,001 - £42,700)
Band ‘E’ £375.00 Salary in excess of £42.700
Contractor - £250
PAYMENT OPTIONS
Salary Deduction
Swansea University monthly paid staffmay choose to pay via a salary deduction for permits
2017/2018 [commencing June 2017]
Band ‘A’ 12 monthly payments of £3.66
Band ‘B’ 12 monthly payments of £6.66
Band ‘C’ 12 monthly payments of £14.58
Band ‘D’ 12 monthly payments of £24.00
Band ‘E’ 12 monthly payment of £31.25
Single Payment
For non University staff and permits not eligible for the salary deduction scheme a single payment must be made in person by cash or credit/debit card to Estates and Facilities. The office is located on the fourth floor of Union House and is open Monday to Friday 08.30 to 16.30. If paying for permit by credit card there is a 1.5% additional charge
HOW TO APPLY
Applications in person may be made from the 3rd May 2017at the Estates and Facilities Reception on the fourth floor of Union House or 1stfloor , Tower information centre.
Swansea University Staff
Singleton & Bay Car Parks- via Intranet or in person, salary option available as well as full payment option. Intranet applications may be made from 2nd May2017
To apply via intranet and once logged in select “My Account” and follow the instructions.
Car ShareApplication form will need to be completed in personand accompanied by car share documentation and confirmation email from lift share. Payment will be via salary sacrifice or in full and will be the relevant percentage of each person’s salary band.
Low Emission Cars
There is a 30% discount for low omission cars not receiving any other concession.
In order to qualify for the 30% reduction all vehicles registered to the permit must meet the low emission
Criteria.
Retired Swansea University Staff
In person, full payment required on issue. Retired staff members generally will be considered visitors and are not eligible for a permit. Retired staff/Emeritus Professorial staff actively engaged in research for an academic department will be considered as “staff” subject to a letter of authorisation from the relevant Head of College.
Student Union Staff
In person, full payment required on issue of authorised permit by Students Union with banding indicated.
Students – Temporary Mobility Impairment
In person, full payment on issue £44.00, Medical Assessment Form filled in by your GP and assessment by University Occupational Health.Medical Assessment form available from Estates Reception, 4th Floor Union House.
Disabled Badge Holder
Will require a permit and submit their vehicle details to Estates so that this information can be inputted onto the ANPR camera
System.
Permits will be free of charge and issued on presentation of a blue badge with parking application documents.
Contractors
In person, permit eligibility and cost subject to contract agreement. Full payment to be made at time of issue.
Students – SU Crèche
In person, full payment on issue £44.00 with letter of authorisation from Crèche indicating days when child in crèche, valid only for these days.
Students Overnight Permit
In person. Full payment of an admin fee of £5
Tenants
In person, permit eligibility and cost subject to tenancy agreement. Full payment to be made at time of issue.
Egypt Centre and Transcription Centre
Required to submit a letter to Estates and Facilities confirming that the person is volunteering for them and the car details.
NOTE
All vehicles should be taxed, MOT’d and have a valid insurance policy in respect of their use before any permit will be issued. A check process is in place.
