Literacy & English Tasks
  • Find a twig and write your spelling words out in the snow. Ask a parent or carer to test you.
  • Can you write a snow themed story? It can be personal or imaginative – between 150 to 250 words. Think of a VCOP target and write this at the beginning of your story.
  • Using your reading novel. Make up questions using Blooms Taxonomy. Questions about Remembering, Understanding, Applying, Analysing, Evaluating and Creating.
  • How many words can you make from ‘Winter Wonderland’?
/ Numeracy & Maths Tasks
  • Go on a 3D shape hunt around your house. Take some photographs if you can. Write down the names of 3 of your shapes and their properties.
  • Draw and make a net of a 3 D shape.Find some card and make your 3 D shape.
  • Make up a subtraction or addition worksheet with 20 sums, e.g., 2 digit plus 2 digit or 2 digit minus 2 digit or 1 digit. If you want you can make your sums more challenging and use 3 digit numbers. Remember to calculate mentally. Record your answers on the worksheet and then test a member of your family.
  • Complete a five minute multiplication frenzy sheet every day. Record your time. Once you have done this – test a parent or carer.
  • Build a snowman and measure its height? Record this in metres and centimetres.

Health & Wellbeing Tasks
  • Go outside and build a snowman or a snow castle. Take a photograph if you can.
  • Make a healthy snack for your family. You will describe the ingredients you used to your classmates.
  • Play a board game with your family.
/ Learning across the Curriculum Tasks
  • Create a board game for your buddy.Remember to include instructions and rules. To make your board attractive use illustrations.
  • Ahead of our new topic - Create a poster of what you want to learn and what you know already.

Science/Technology Tasks
  • Make a bird cake and then make a leaflet describing how to do it.
