“Switch” Show Outline / Sequence

·  The show has a host that may or may not be a well known “gay” personality.

·  Each week the competition sets two women against each other (who cross dress as men) or two men against each other (who cross dress as women). But each week, it’s one or the other; both sexes do not compete with each other on a weekly basis.

·  Accompanied by our host, in a “studio setting” we meet our week’s competitors. A combination of “live” dialogue with each contestant plus video “cutaways” captured during a week’s worth of filming, helps the audience understand our contestants/ characters for the week – who they are, what they do, where they live, and most importantly who their friends are.

·  During the opening sequence/segment we meet, through still pictures only, the friends of each competitor who ultimately play a significant role in the competition. During this “debriefing” sequence the competitors and the audience becomes acquainted with all the players.

·  The Meeting: A “meeting” is arranged with one of the competitors and their best friend. At this meeting the “competitor” explains to the best friend that another friend of the competitor will be visiting from out of town, a person of the “opposite sex” and that the competitor wants the best friend to make sure that the best friend introduces the “visiting friend” to all of their friends and shows them a good time. (Note: the “visiting friend” in question is the “competitor” who will be dressed in drag; a photo of the “friend dressed in drag” may be shown to jumpstart the unsuspecting “humor/joke process)

·  The Explanation: The competitor also explains to the “best friend” during this meeting that the “visiting friend” is someone in the “film and tv business” who is working on a “television pilot/documentary” of some sort and when they meet this “visiting friend” they should not to be put off by the camera(s). (Note: This explains/justifies the presence of “cameras” when they meet the “visiting friend” at the “big party.”

·  The Transformation: A major segment/sequence of the show involves the transformation of the contestant into a member of the opposite sex – men into women, women into men. This involves a “professional make-over team” that also includes fun and funny sequences involving fashion – shopping, choosing clothing, hair and facial make up all lend themselves to a good time and great fun.

·  While all dressed up and raring to go, the contestant and the host then go about “planning a party.” During this sequence/segment of the show, the “transformed” contestant has an opportunity to be a member of the opposite sex for the day and try out their new gender and personality in the street by interfacing with various people during the “party planning stage” of the show.

·  The Party: Not only will both contestants be at the party, but so will “all the friends” of each contestant, in addition to a bunch of other people as well. (Note: to provide a logical explanation for each contestant not showing up at “their own party” the contestants will call “the friend” who they met earlier in the show and explain that “something came up that prevents them from being their “but to do their best to make sure that their “out of town friend has a great time.”

·  The Challenge/Competition: At “the party” each contestant will do their best to not just “avoid being busted, or outed by their own friends, but a scoring system will be developed so that each contestant who is now dressed as a member of the opposite sex has the objective and earns points through achievements such as flirting with the friends of the competitor, being “asked to have a drink,” “getting a phone number,” “being asked out on a date at a later time,” and so on.

·  The Payoff: A “private room of sorts” will be set up at “the party house” that is sort of out of the way and intended as a “make out” room – quiet and a bit secluded. The idea is to see if either of the contestants can lure their competitors friends back to that room – for private conversation, or “whatever else.”

·  The Reveal: The question is, how far will contestants go? Will the “made over man,” now dressed as a women, allow his competitors friend a kiss if and when “a move is made”? On the scoring system to be developed, a kiss is worth the most number of points.

·  The Final Segment of the Show: The final segment of the show takes place back in the studio, where the host, along with the competitors, watches on video monitors their own actions of the evening. Through dramatic and clever editing, the best, fun, funniest, most exciting, most titillating and most provocative moments of the night are “viewed and narrated by the host, with commentary and feedback offered by the guests who explain their “thoughts and feelings” of their experience as the night progressed and they were on their mission.
