How excited was I to get the call asking if I wanted to write my very own Style In The City column! I immediately thought of all the gossip I could share with you. Rubbing shoulders with celebs at a private members bar, quaffing Champagne until the early hours and invites a plenty to the latest clubs. However the reality is when I got the call I was watching LK Today over a bowl of porridge (organic with skimmed) in a pair of PJ’s that never mind last season are last decade. Am I sharing too much with you already? No, I have decided that the Style In The City column needs to honest – fashion disasters and all so here goes.

My week has been varied but the most exciting thing was that The General Store on Deansgate had a massive opening party with gorgeous models and crisp champagne. My phone didn’t stop ringing with the girls enquiring what to wear. I decided that since I am loving the style of our home grown supermodel Agyness Deyn I would go with her look of a shirt dress, heeled lace up shoes and a denim jacket. Picture Sienna Miller 3 years ago when she was doing her boho thing and then add a bit of Agyness quirk and you have got it. Trust me girls it’s very wearable and if you do it now you will be stylishly ahead of your time.

Did you start the year with great intentions? Were you going to lose a stone, go to the gym 3 times a week, only eat organic and attend adult tap classes. Only me for the last one then! Ok, but I know the rest of you are nodding in agreement to the others. Tonight’s Style In The City is a spring-clean special but don’t be thinking feather dusters and mops because it’s how to spring-clean you and your life. Joanna and Rachel from Earth Mother in Ramsbottom tell us how to look after our bodies, Coby Langford has devised a do-able detox that doesn’t involve an apple core on Monday and a glass of tepid water on Thursday and finally Simon Glanvill from aplaceforeverything.co.uk shows us how to keep our living space stylishly clean. If you have fallen of the resolution wagon then clear a gap on the cluttered sofa, pop the wine back in the fridge and put away the Pringles lets start afresh at 8pm tonight.

Just before I sign off for this week I must just drop in that I am off to Switzerland skiing for the weekend and don’t worry I won’t let you down I will look stylish at every turn (literally).
