Title: Marketing and Community Fundraising Manager

Responsible to: Chief Executive

Hours of work:2 days per week, 7 hours per day

Annual Salary:£10,000 per annum (with pension, fte £25,000)

Location:Sudbury Neighbourhood Centre, 809 Harrow Road, Wembley,

Middlesex, HA0 2LP (some opportunity for home working)

JOB SUMMARY:

The role of the Marketing and Community Fundraising Manager will be to:

  • Developing and implement a marketing strategy to promote the Sudbury Neighbourhood Centre across North West London and raise income
  • Develop a programme of community fundraising opportunities and links with local companies, schools and colleges, local business communities, public and statutory bodies, other voluntary sector organisations and faith and communities to raise income for the Centre
  • Working pro-actively with the Friends of Sudbury Neighbourhood Centre to develop and manage a programme of local fundraising events (i.e. coffee mornings, jumble sales, raffles, quizzes, golf days, house to house collections, street fundraising, special events)
  • To manage a small team of volunteers, and internships, to support the role.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Marketing

  • Write a Marketing Strategy and Action Plan for the Sudbury Neighbourhood Centre to promote the work of the Centre across North West London and to increase income from daycare services, lettings, activities, events, donations and community fundraising.
  • Maintain and upgrade the Centre’s website using Wordpress.
  • Manage the production and distribution of all printed material for the Centre, including the Newsletter, flyers, promotional leaflets, brochures, and other material as directed.
  • Establish an online social media presence for the Centre through Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, email and texting.
  • Establish and maintain a central marketing database for the Centre.
  • Establish marketing campaigns for the Centre to promote it’s services and activities thereby generating income from a wide audience of older adults, families, carers, local businesses, charities and community organisations, local authorities, public sector and NHS stakeholders.

Community Fundraising

  • Arrange and support community events for which responsible throughout the year within time scales and to target regarding funds raised and people recruited/attending.
  • Plan and develop events with the rest of the team and take responsibility for specific events and their effectiveness.
  • Develop background funding through collecting boxes, raffles, quizzes, car boot sales, supporters club, fundraising appeals and especially through developing a growing list of individual donors.
  • Develop online and social media fundraising initiatives, legacies, donations and gifts, with the Chief Executive and the Trust Fundraiser.
  • Liaise with the Chief Executive, Trust Fundraiser, SNC staff, the Friends, and Trustees, to initiate and deliver a community events and activities programme for funders, and prospective funders.
  • Work with the Trust Fundraiser to submit bids to corporate and other donors.

  • This role may involve the management or supervision of volunteers and interns.

  • Be willing to develop services which may run out of office hours (e.g., weekends) where service users’ needs are identified.

Training

Sudbury Neighbourhood Centre provides all necessary induction and training, and encourages and, where possible, supports the upgrading of appropriate skills and qualifications. All employees will receive regular support and supervision.

Volunteers

Volunteers are at the heart of Sudbury Neighbourhood Centre’s work. The organisation is committed to involving volunteers in its continuous development and to offering volunteers the best of experiences. All Sudbury Neighbourhood Centre staff members will be expected to support the volunteering ethos and to work alongside the volunteer team to promote and facilitate the involvement of volunteers wherever appropriate.

This post is office based at Sudbury Neighbourhood Centre, 809 Harrow Road, Wembley, Middlesex, HA0 2LP. Working two days a week, 7 hours per day, ideally Mondays and Tuesdays.
