Program times may be changed at the discretion of Meet Management. All participating clubs will be notified of any changes to the program. Coaches will be notified prior to the meet of any changes to the specifications of this meet package, unless such changes can be dealt with at the commencement of the meet without disadvantage to the swimmers.

ELIGIBILITY:All swimmers must be a registered competitive swimmer with

Swimming Nation Canada (SNC) or FINA affiliates.

PARA swimmers who are registered with a FINA or IPC affiliate are eligible to compete and will be seeded according to their entry time.

All participants must be 7 years of age. The age of the swimmer for the purpose of this meet is determined by the swimmer’s age on the first day of the meet.

COMPETITION:Number of events to enter is 7.

12 and Under: Choice of three 50’s

Choice of three 100’s

Choice of 200 Free or 200 IM

13 and Over:Choice of two 50’s

Choice of three 100’s

200 IM

400 Free

All events will be swum as Timed Finals and will be seeded by time and gender. Male and females will swim separately. Scratches within a heat may not alter the pre seeding and the heat may be swum with empty lanes.

Heats may be combined at the discretion of the Meet Manager. Except for backstroke events, swimmers will remain in the water at the completion of their swim to allow the next heat to get under way. Swimmers will stay to the side of their respective lane against the lane rope.

**In order to promote the highest level of participation, swimmers not capable of swimming specific events may be allowed alternated event entries at thediscretion of the meet manager. Swimmers entered in alternate events will be entered as exhibition swimmers for those events and will not be scored for the alternate events or be eligible for aggregate awards. Requests for Exhibition swims must be made to the meet manager prior to the entry deadline.

ENTRY DEADLINE:All entries must be received by 11:59 pm, Friday April 10th, 2015

FORWARD ENTRIES TO:Clubs must submit entries by uploading their Hy-Tek Entries file to

the national events database at:

Entries will be accepted with valid LC or SC times or with the unproved training or non-sanctioned competition times at coaches’ discretion or with no time (NT). Entries with valid LC times will be seeded first, followed by proven SC times and then unproven times and NT accordingly. All swimmers who have never obtained a time must be entered as a no time (NT) for that event. Entries for each swimmer must include 9 Digit SNC registration number, gender, date of birth and age of swimmer at time of meet. Entries that do not include this information will be excluded. Meet Management will not be responsible for obtaining missing numbers.

ENTRY FEES:Swimmers will be charged a flat fee of $65.00.

LIMITATIONS:Meet Management has determined, based on previous entry levels and

duration of the event, entry is limited to 300 swimmers and Meet Management has the discretion to allow further entries should those entries not substantially prolong the duration of the meet. Any further entries from clubs not already in the meet will not be accepted. Late entries will be at the discretion of the meet management, this also includes deck entries.

START:The FINA One Start rule (SW 4) will be in effect.

SAFETY RULES:Current Swimming Canada Competition Warm-up Safety Procedures will be in effect. See

There will be no lane assignment during warm-up; no swimmer shall enter the pool by a dive. Safety Marshalls will be stationed around the pool deck. During the last 30 minutes, lanes 0 and 9 are designated as sprinting and diving lanes and only ONE-WAY SWIMMING IS ALLOWED.

  1. No Running is permitted on the deck.
  2. No fins or paddles during the warm-up.
  3. Footwear must be worn at all times when not on deck.
  4. No glass or glass bottles are allowed anywhere in the pool or other sections of the building.
  5. NOTE: It is the Coach’s RESPONSIBILITY to inform the swimmers and to ensure their discipline and adherence to the MEET SAFETY RULES.

MEET RULES:All current SNC rules will be in effect unless a specific rule has been

modified in this meet package.

PROTESTS:As per SNC Rule CGR 9.2.

SCRATCHES:Scratches from heats simply create empty lanes, as there shall be no

re-seeding. Scratches from heats may be made at any time without

penalty except for loss of entry fee.

All scratches must be submitted on official scratch forms to the Clerk of Course thirty (30) minutes prior to the start of a session in which the event is being held in.

Coaches are encouraged to provide scratches to the Clerk of Course

as soon as possible so that the Clerk may try to accommodate the

deck entry of swimmers.

DECK ENTRIES:Deck entries will be allowed at the discretion of Meet Management

and Clerk of Course, based on lane availability. No new heats will be created. Deck entries must be submitted to the Clerk of Course no later than 45 minutes prior to the start of the session in which the

event is to be swum. Deck entries are $15.00 per event. Cash payment will be required prior to entry into the event.

RELAYS:Time permitting, a 4 x 100 Free Mixed gender, open age fun relay will be swum at the end of Sundays session. 2 girls and 2 boys will make up the relay team and may swim in any orderall relays will be Timed Finals. There is no cost to enter a relay.

Coaches are encouraged to mix the age groups( junior and senior) of the swimmers and place a focus on fun.Names of relay members must be submitted to the Clerk of Course no later then 30 minutes after the start of Sunday’s session.

To maximize participation, at the discretion of the meet manager, teams without enough swimmers to enter 2 of each gender may be allowed alternate entries.

Each relay swimmer must swim in at least one individual event in the meet.

Lead off relay splits will not be recorded as official splits.

SCORING:Scoring will be based on FINA points for individual events only.

All swimmers will score in an event except if disqualified or if the swimmer is an exhibition swim

AWARDS:Ribbons will be awarded for the top ten (10) finishers in each event of the Girls and Boys categories in each of thefollowing age groups: 9 and under, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14 and 15 and over.

Plaques will be awarded to the top male/female points for each age category. In the event of a tie, the swimmer with the highest individual event FINA point score will be declared the winner.

Ribbons and plaques will be forwarded if the receiving swimmer is not present at the time of presentation.

Official Splits:As per SNC Swimming Rule CSW 13.3.1.1 - Meet Management requires, that a coach wishing to rely on a time achieved by a swimmer for an interval shorter than the total distance of the event, must advise the Referee and Meet Management prior to the commencement of the event in question will be held. Official Split requests must be submitted to the Meet Manager a minimum of ½ hour prior to the start of the session that the event is being held. Such official split shall then be reported as a separate event in the meet results.

CONCESSION:The concession at the Shaw Centre will be open during the meet. FOOD

AND DRINK, INCLUDING GUM, SUNFLOWER SEEDS, ETC., ARE

NOT PERMITTED ON THE POOL DECK. GLASS CONTAINERS

OF ANY KIND ON DECK MAY BE CAUSE TO EJECT A SWIMMER OR OTHER PERSON FROM THE MEET.

GENERAL COMMENTS:All Clubs are requested to clean up and supervise their own areas. Any

swimmer caught vandalizing, using offensive language, or otherwise

causing a disturbance shall at the discretion of the Referee be

disqualified from the meet and asked to leave. The referee’s decision

shall be final.

Footwear must be worn at all times when not on deck.

No “deck-changing” will be allowed. Swimmers must go to the change

room to change in and out of bathing suits.
