Drawing from his background and experience in pediatric dentistry, oral pathology and medicine, orthodontics, and education, Dr. Sonis will present timely information relevant for the private practitioner as it relates to new products, technologies, and therapeutics. This will include objective reviews based on the principles of evidenced based medicine combined with the presenter’s personal experiences in the hospital and private practice setting. The meeting will be held at the beautiful world class Allison Inn & Spa where you will have access to the majestic wine country here in Newberg, Oregon.

On Saturday April 25, 2015 we will have our own personal wine tour. And will end with tastings at Long Brewing to cleanse the palate of all the tannins.

Dr. Andrew Sonis

Dr. Sonis is a graduate of Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. He received his pediatric dental training at Children’s Hospital, Boston, and Harvard University School of Dental Medicine, his orthodontic training at Boston University Goldman School of Dentistry, and his oral medicine training at Louisiana State University School of Dentistry. He is board certified in oral medicine, orthodontics, and pediatric dentistry. He currently holds the rank of Clinical Professor in the Department of Developmental Biology at Harvard and is Senior Associate in the Department of Dentistry at Children’s Hospital, Boston. He is a partner in a group dental practice in Newton, Massachusetts.

Pediatric Oral Pathology and Oral Medicine

This presentation will review a myriad of oral pathologic conditions afflicting the pediatric patient including their clinical presentation and management.

Gums, Germs, and Steel: Preventing and minimizing complications of orthodontic appliance therapy

This presentation will review the complications of fixed orthodontic appliance therapy frequently encountered in the pediatric patient population and the means to prevent or manage them. This lecture will cover the strategies of the orthodontist and pediatric dentist working together in maximizing treatment outcomes while minimizing the risk of complications.

Participants will receive a detailed syllabus and are assured of a clinically useful, motivating, and entertaining educational experience.
