ABSTRACT:

This project is about how to make a cheap wireless home security system using Fingerprint sensor technology All home security systems work on the same basic principle of securing entry points, like doors and windows, as well as interior space containing valuables like currency, computers, jewelry, and coin collections. Regardless of the size of your home, or the number of doors and windows or interior rooms a homeowner decides to protect, the only real difference is in the number of security components deployed throughout the home and monitored by the control panel.

The most basic definition of any security system is found in its name. It is literally a means or method by which something is secured through a system of interworking components and devices.

In this instance, we're talking about home security systems, which are networks of integrated electronic devices working together with a central control panel to protect against burglars and other potential home intruders.

ABOUT FINGERPRINT TECHNOLOGY

Fingerprint recognitionorfingerprint authenticationrefers to theautomatedmethod of verifying a match between two humanfingerprints. Fingerprints are one of many forms ofbiometricsused toidentifyindividuals andverifytheiridentity.

The analysis of fingerprints for matching purposes generally requires the comparison of several features of the print pattern. These include patterns, which are aggregate characteristics of ridges, and minutia points, which are unique features found within the patterns. It is also necessary to know the structure and properties of humanskinin order to successfully employ some of the imaging technologies.

A fingerprintsensoris anelectronic deviceused to capture adigital imageof the fingerprint pattern. The captured image is called a live scan. This live scan isprocessed to create a biometric template (a collection ofextracted features) which is stored and used for matching. Manytechnologieshave been used including optical, capacitive,RF, thermal, piezoresistive, ultrasonic, piezoelectric,MEMS. This is an overview of some of the more commonly used fingerprint sensor technologies.

WORKING PRINCIPLE

In this project,Servo motors are used to lock doors of the house and can be opened only with the fingerprint sensor detects the correct prints.

Until correct print is shown, the doors will remain lock. Whenever anyone tries to enter in the house he needs to touch the fingerprint scanner so that his prints are read and therefore only the ones with the prints match in the database will be able to enter. If a wrong fingerprint is detected then a warning system will be activated and if the wrong print is detectedconsecutively3 times, the system will get locked and alarm will be activated.

APPLICATIONS:

Biometric devices have many advantageous aspects in organizations. This device’s main advantage is that one has to personally be present in order to confirm his presence. These devices have more importance in industry such as police, crime investigators and detectives. These devices are also important in business dealing with a lot of money to get access to and secret information about clients or the company.Nevertheless, other advantages of a fingerprint scanner are:

Others can’t use one’s identity since physical attributes can’t be duplicated like identity cards.

It is cheap, fast and easy to setup.

You can't misplace your fingerprints and it does not change with age or get affected by any disease.

It can’t be forgotten since it’s a physical feature.
