GRADING SCALE and GPA

All grades recorded on the academic record are the actual grades earned by the student. For the purpose of calculating the grade average and GPA, the following scale is used. Beginning with the Class of 2014, AP courses reflect an additional 10 points that will result in a weighted numerical average. Pre-AP courses will also be weighted with an additional 5 points. School transcripts will reflect the cumulative numerical average and a weighted cumulative GPA. No grades from correspondence work, high school courses taken in middle school or special summer program courses are usedin calculating either GPA.
