HOLIDAYS TO SPARE! CHARITY BOWLING TOURNAMENT RAISES

NEARLY $20,000 FOR FAMILIES IN CRISIS

5th Annual Bowling Tournament benefits Deliver the Dream’s Family Retreat Program

Margate, Fla. – Deliver the Dream hosted the Holidays to Spare! Bowling Tournament on Saturday, August 6, 2016 at Brunswick Margate Lanes Bowling Alley.

The sold out Holidays to Spare! Tournament hosted 32 teams and included a bowling competition for holiday trophies, trivia, a holiday-themed costume contest, a strike challenge and a silent auction. The bowler who raised the most money via the charity’s online fundraising drive won a cruise for two to the Bahamas provided by Royal Seas Cruises. The winner of the costume contest was a team dressed in “Groundhog Day” attire. They arrived in winter clothes and then proceeded to change into their spring costumes, insinuating that Punxsutawney Phil did, indeed, see his shadow.

Event sponsors included Protiviti, PNC Bank, Crowe Horwath, City National Bank, Christopher Ciano, Jet’s Pizza, Armstrong Relocation, Best Roofing, Bluegreen Vacations, Five Guys, Scott Lockwood, Suncoast Marketing, House Detective Home Inspections, and Royal Seas Cruises.

Planning Committee members included Amanda Arana, Monica Baryo, Jonathan Trillos, Maria Bonnin, and Brooke Ellis.

Deliver the Dream’s family retreat program helps families who have a child or a parent living with an illness/crisis such as Cancer, Autism, HIV/AIDS, Cerebral Palsy, Multiple Sclerosis or Sickle Cell. It has served nearly 7,000 family members throughout the Southeast since 2002. Retreats help families enhance coping skills, reduce stress, and cultivate lasting relationships with other families enduring the same illness/crisis by combining traditional recreational activities, therapeutic workshops, and peer-to-peer discussion groups. The retreats are provided at no cost to participants. For more information go to www.DeliverTheDream.org.
