PTO:

Welcome

  • Holiday Fair- we have new volunteers to chair the Holiday Fair next year
  • Thank you to Variety Show participants- video will be coming in the next 2 weeks
  • Ice Cream Social for all participants of the Variety Show
  • Gertrude Hawk Chocolates- orders have arrived- sold $8, 600/ profit $4,300
  • Plant Sale will take place May 3rd
  • Barnes and Nobel Night in June for summer reading books
  • Green Day on Friday

Voting for PTO:

7 Smartboards - cost $4, 900 Vote - Yes

38 iPads – cost- $7,600 Vote-Yes

Library books- cost-$5, 000 – Vote-Yes

Lap top cart (25 lap tops)- $7,500-Vote-Yes

2 Ping Pong Tables- $600.- Vote-Yes

Class party -TD gift Card $25 per class- $550- Vote-Yes

PIC Meeting

  • Safety -Mrs. Peri is on safety committee for our school and attends meetings regarding safety
  • Safety survey will be up online. Parents can fill out survey and we will compile results
  • District budget on website
  • Computer specialists (new position) – will work alongside teachers for in-class support and will troubleshoot any challenges
  • Summer Enrichment Classes- similar to last year
  • 2013-2014 Calendar- September 9th start date. Last day of school June 24th
  • Middletown Friends of Different Learners available talks- consult district website for dates

Mr. Paulson

  • Variety Show video will be shown during lunch time
  • Bucketfiller -awarded this week
  • Bulletin Board- “Harmony Happenings”
  • March 22nd isPajama Day- Students can pay $1- All money will go towards SuperTy.org. This will benefit this organization Ty Louis Campbell Foundation
  • Kindergarten going on trip - Suessical
  • 5th grade trip- IMAX theater
  • School Media Workshop March 19th6:30 PM -High School South Presented by a local lawyer
  • Lockdown was on Thursday. Letter was sent home
  • Grade 3-8 NJ ASK Strategy Fair- Wednesday, April 10th, from 6:30-8:30 at Thorne Middle School
  • Information packet given to all students with details about the NJ ASK
  • Ducks will be received for filling out the Time for Kids packet. For every child who hands them in, the school will receive a subscription for Time for Kids
  • More money in the budget. Mr. Paulson was able to purchase the following items for our school:

-Teachers have received additional money for purchasing resources. -Yearly allowance increased from $200-$300 per teacher

-new lap top cart,

-some new desk tops,

-district is replacing some old teacher lap tops,

-new chairs for computer lab,

-new desks and chairs for a grade level,

-flat screen TV’s with DVD’s built into them,

-small laminator for teachers.
