Bourne End, UK, 15 October 2001 – Xerox OPB (Office Printing Business) announces the latest addition to its esteemed black-and-white printer line. In line with recent product releases from Xerox OPB, the Phaser 5400 brings industry-leading speed, versatile paper handling capabilities and advanced software features to workgroups at an exceptional price, reaffirming Xerox OPB’s commitment to the networked office market.
Building upon the success of the Xerox DocuPrint N2825, the Phaser 5400 carries the well-respected Phaser brand name and surpasses the competition in performance.
The Phaser 5400 delivers exceptional performance thanks to the combination of its 40 pages per minute print engine, a powerful 266 MHz G3 class PowerPCÒ processor, an impressive first page out time of nine seconds and WorkSet productivity features.
The Phaser 5400 offers the best media handling in its class through support for media weights up to 200 gsm and paper sizes up to A3, including custom media. In addition, the Phaser 5400 has several media handling features, such as duplexing and high-capacity input/output options for the most demanding workgroups.
The Phaser 5400 includes CentreWare Web, an advanced enterprise-wide printer management tool that enables the easy installation, configuration and troubleshooting of all printers on a network, as well as CentreWare IS, an embedded Web server that allows for remote printer management via any Web browser.

The Phaser 5400 is available for an estimated retail price of £1,957.00 and comes with one-year, one site service. The printer is available from 15th October 2001 worldwide through resellers and dealers.
