Monday, November 16
Topic/Objectives: Unit 2 Lesson 1 in text. (pages 84-115) The objectives in Unit 2 Lesson 1 include: Describing volunteer activities, organizing people to do a project, and persuading/influencing others. New grammar in this chapter includes tú commands, Ud./Uds./nosotros commands, and polite requests.
In-Class Activities: “Músicalunes” - Spanish video/lryics “Sígume y Te Sigo” by Daddy Yankee. Both the title of this song and the lyrics have examples of command forms and irregular verbs. Continued Practice with commands. Review of formation/conjugation, with emphasis on irregulars. Introduction of another use for commands - giving directions. Students will write (a) recipe(s) in Spanish, using at least 20 commands in the Ud. form. I will provide a list of cooking-related verbs. Using commands with different verbs, in a different activity, allows students to apply knowledge of command forms in a different situation.
Handouts/Worksheets: List of cooking-related verbs, recipe cards.
Homework: submit recipe card either online (shared in Google Classroom), or on paper (handed out in class)

In-Class Activities: Continued practice with commands. Students will report to the computer lab and complete online review activities on our online textbook. (my.hrw.com) Students have a bonus competition available through the app Quizlet (or Quizlet.com) to score the highest in a review game for bonus points.
