Hong Kong Disneyland Brings Fun to Safety

Honda Supports Wild About Safety Campaign

(1 November 2006 – Hong Kong) Underscoring Disney’s traditions of safety and storytelling, Hong Kong Disneyland today launched the Wild About Safety campaign featuring a coloring activity in the park from 1- 3 November as well as its participation in the E&M Safety Carnival 2006 to be held at the Victoria Park on 4 and 5 November.

The Wild About Safety campaign is an entertaining educational program that uses two of Disney’s most popular characters – Timon and Pumbaa from the Lion King – as “spokescharacters” to educate guests about resort safety in a fun and uniquely Disney way. Joining Hong Kong Disneyland in launching the campaign is Honda Motor (China) Co. Ltd., renowned for its commitment to quality, innovation, and safety values.

Developed by veteran Park operators and artists at Walt Disney Imagineering, this campaign reminds guests about safety rules without detracting from the fun and fantasy of their Disney entertainment experiences.

Twelve safety messages depicting Timon and Pumbaa’s “misadventures” at a Disney Resort are the centerpiece of the campaign. Each image is accompanied by a colorful tagline – such as “Keep Arms, Hooves, Tusks and Tails Inside the Vehicle” – that underscores safe behavior.

Guests visiting Hong Kong Disneyland from 1 – 3 November (Wednesday to Friday) will be able to participate in a coloring activity at a special Kid Zone at Adventureland. Kids will be invited to take part and will be offered the opportunity to be presented with colorful stickers, safety cards and pamphlets from the Wild About Safety campaign.

Extending the fun and the safety messages to the community, Hong Kong Disneyland will also participate in the 2006 E&M Safety Carnival organized by the Electrical and Mechanical Services Department of the HKSAR Government on 4 and 5 November (Saturday and Sunday) at Victoria Park in Causeway Bay.

Guests can participate in a Wild About Safety contest at the specially designed Hong Kong Disneyland booth hosted by Disney VoluntEARs and will be able to win Wild About Safety stickers and tin badges. Guests will also have the chance to meet and take pictures with Timon against a lush jungle backdrop.

In addition, a vehicle from Autopia, one of the park’s latest and most popular attractions, will be featured to remind guests about attraction safety measures and provide a fun and exciting setting for guests to pose for pictures.

The Wild About Safety campaign will be a continuous program at the Hong Kong Disneyland Resort. For more information on the campaign and a summary of all 12 safety messages, visit www.disney.com/safety.
