An investigation is an inquiry into a topic that is less in-depth than a full research paper, yet provides substantial details about a topic. When someone is finished listening to your investigation they should have a good understanding of this historical figure.

Students will be working on this project in Literacy block, computers, media, and Social Studies blocks. As you can see, most of their work will be done at school.

Your investigation will culminate in three products:

a poster

a wax museum presentation

a drawing/or computer printed picture that is no larger than 4X6

three examples of something that relates to your figure example: (If snowman, clothing, snow, animals in winter)

This investigation must include the following:

  • Why this person is important. (be specific, use examples)
  • What accomplishments this person is known for
  • Information about this person’s early life and how that led them to do what they did
  • Information on their adult life
  • Information about their family
  • Quotes from your historical figure
  • Other information that you find interesting
