Scholarship Award Application
The Fort Worth Chapter of H.O.P.E. Inc. was established as a non-profit organization. The organization meets monthly at various locations throughout Fort Worth. The primary goals of the organization are to disseminate information about Postal employment and to participate actively in the community.
PURPOSE
H.O.P.E. scholarship awards are intended to assist students toward attaining higher educational goals. The scholarship must be used solely for academic or vocational career purposes. The organization reserves the right to verify eligibility. The selection committee is currently comprised of H.O.P.E. members. The committee reserves the right to obtain outside consultants.
ELIGIBILITY
  • Applicant must be a senior in a public or private school, a high school graduate, or have completed a G.E.D.
  • Non-Traditional students and post graduate students who are attending at least part-time are also eligible to apply.
  • Student must have a GPA of 2.5, or better, on a 4.0 scale.
  • Applicant must be a current HOPE member or relative of a current HOPE member for the Fort Worth Chapter.
REQUIREMENTS
  • Applicant must submit a personal recommendation from one (1) of their instructors, teachers, school counselors, religious advisor, or employer.
  • INCOMPLETE APPLICATIONS WILL BE DISQUALIFIED!
  • Official high school transcript or latest official college transcript is mandatory.
  • Applications must be completed and mailed, postage paid, to the Scholarship Committee. The applications must be received or post-marked byJune 30, 2018.
  • If you are selected as a scholarship recipient, you will be required to provide verification of enrollment, student ID number, and school account number.

Required Scholarship Essay

Applicant Instructions: Essay should be in a narrative format and a minimum of 500 and maximum of 1000 words in length.
Essays must be typed.
Pick a historic event that has had a great impact on the Hispanic community. Explain the impact it had on the community as well as how it affects you.
